The countries bordering the Red Sea will be very different from Asia and Europe, and I am looking forward to cruising this interesting part of the world for my first time.

The landscape appears stark with barren rocky grounds and sandy deserts, but crystal clear water and colourful reefs rate the Red Sea as one of the best diving regions in the world.
I'm definitely taking my mask and snorkel !

Aden will be departed around early March

The wind is generally astern until half way up the Red Sea (around Port Sudan), so good passages are anticipated to the Dahlak Bank and along the Eritrean coastline - till end of March.

Sudan may be avoided now, due to instability there, but if the situation improves by the time we arrive, it may still be considered for cruising.

Egypt should be reached by late April, and the Suez Canal transitted late May

There are plenty of things to do in Egypt. I am keen to see the Cairo museum, pyramids, and temples on the Nile to get a taste of the rich history of the country.
