Mission Statement

As a rehabilitative riding coach, I feel it is our calling and primary mission is to help children with physical and mental disabilities, developmental disorders, emotional problems, learning deficiencies and behavioural problems.

Objectives

  • To promote and encourage the horse as therapeutic aid to achieve better ADL function (Activities for Daily Living) in all prospective challenged riders.
  • To reach out and make the community aware of the advantages of horse riding to the physically and mentally handicapped.
  • To recruit new Members to the school.
  • To further the equestrian and competitive interests of any prospective rider who shows an interest or a love for horses, no matter what ability they enjoy, or what culture or creed they belong to.
  • To make riding therapy available to a previously disadvantaged community.
  • To give Members opportunities to meet and discuss matters of common interest, putting forward suggestions for the betterment of the School and Equestrian Sport in general.
  • To organise fund-raising events, shows, displays, demonstrations and to host clinics or training sessions to pass our experience and knowledge on to other schools to the benefit of additional riders.
  • To continuously broaden our knowledge of Equestrian Therapy and horses in general.
  • To support and co-operate with the commonly recognised organisations with the same interests and goals as us. We want to see everyone working together as a TEAM, because Together Everyone Achieves More.
  • To ensure that the safety and welfare of the horse and rider are paramount at all times.
  • To offer an employment opportunity and so create sustainable development to a community who desperately need it.
  • To carry out all other activities reasonably coincidental to these objectives, with love, compassion and empathy.
