I had studied in Core 6 IEP program for one session from May 13 to June 26. I took Slang, Pronunciation, and regular Core classes. Even though there were so many Koreans, about 70-80% from south Korea, so I don't think it is idealistic place for Korean English learners at all. However, I met some good friends and I enjoyed talking freely in Korean with people from my country. I was sort of lonely I guess, since I have lived in Shoals. I also enjoyed learning American slangs. It definitely helped me to understand conversation of American people better.

I am so lucky that I can live in Edwin's house, in Bloomington. While he is on his vacation to East coast for a month, my mission is to take good care of his two lovely cats, Raz and Bel. I didn't know about cats before and now I am falling in love with them. |

Being able to live in Bloomington, not have to worry about waking up early, saving time from daily commuting, all of these made me so excited and happy. I can invite friends over dinner and fix food for them, having a little party...!
However, living here alone often makes me feel complete loneness when everybody are gone and the huge emptiness comes. |

I heard even before I came to America that Indiana University is well known for party school. Since the university of Evansville which I had been before, was a Christian school, comparing that night life in Bloomington was totally different and exciting. People here are crazy. They go out every single nights.

He has been my best friend in Bloomington. He is from Nigeria
but he had lived in London about 7 years when he was little. After
that, he went back to his country and it was 1997 when he came to
America. Now he has an US citizen. He is same age as I but already
in graduate school in IU. He studies geophysics.
I
met him very first day when I came to Indiana University, May
10, 2003. When I met him in the Burger king, I was very exhausted
by walking and finding buildings around the campus all day (IU has
very big, complicated campus) and I felt really terrible because
I was informed that there would be 70-80% Koreans in IU English
program. He approached me and asked me whether I mind if he took
a seat and ate with me. We started talking about soccer, travelling,
people and became friends.

I really appreciate all of
those help and memories You have made for me, correcting my English
mistakes, taking me to the mall, grocery stores, giving me a ride
whenever I need, buying me a cheesecake whenever I am unhappy, fixing
me food and teaching me how to dance, how to drive and taking
me to the night club! Those things you have done for me and
your great effort trying to make me happy all the times, our conversation
about many different topics, your understanding, helping to get
rid of my old prejudice... I will never forget. I only wish you
to know how much I am grateful.
