Easter in Shoals April 19 - 21, 2003

It was the first time I visited Shoals and met my host family the Marshalls in 6 years. Shoals is located about 2 and half hours from Evansville. Staying for the Easter in Shoals was so much fun. Dave, my host father brought me to the elks farm and showed me how to feed them. He also taught me how to shoot the gun! On Sunday, I hunted Easter eggs which have money in it with Robbie, Danny, Nichole and Nichole's friend Jeret from Michigan. I found 18 eggs but I got the most money. $131!!!

I moved to Shoals on May 8, 2003. My host father was starting new business in Shoals. The business includes a restaurant, golf course and elks farm. The restaurant "Elk Ridge" is opened 27th of June already. The golf course is ready to open. (planned, August 2,2003) Living in Shoals was different from visiting for Easter holidays. Mostly I had much fun experiencing new work and helping Dave but sometimes I worked like a slave!. ^^; (I can smile now, but it wasn't always pleasing --;)

- Feed Elks
- Cleaning, Sweeping,
Mopping, Vacuum
- Planting trees
- Painting stairs and bar shelves
for the restaurant

- Driving a heave truck, 4 wheelers

Washing dishes for the kitchen in the restaurant
- Making silver
wares, carrying dirty dishes, wiping the tables etc
- Learning Restaurant managing

There was a wine festival in the Elk Ridge, Shoals. The restaurant was opened the day before. Almost a thousand people visited.
