GOODY'S BODY PAIN 500 - MARTINSVILLE VA

I decided last year that I needed to see a race at a "short track". While Bristol Tennessee is on my wish list I've decided that I must win Lotto first because that's how much luck you need to get tickets to that track! I really wanted my wife to "get the racing fever" so along with her and some friends we decided last summer to go to Martinsville. The weather was not all that cooperative as the weather went from beautiful the week before (in the 80's) to cloudy, breezy and cool (50's). That put a damper on activities at the track for my wife. I am convinced she would rather watch the grass grow than a NASCAR race. Below you will find links to pictures of the Craftsman Truck series race held on April 17, 1999 and the Winston Cup race held on April 18, 1999. All pictures were taken from the stands with a 35mm camera with a small zoom lens. Martinsville is a beautiful area and the track and everything else experienced down there was wonderful (with the exception of our hotel in Roanoke - e-mail with lodging questions!!). That track will again be visited by me...it was agreat time.
