What a fantastic facility. Of all th etracks I have
visited in th epast this place was AWESOME!!! This picture was taken with the "wide angle" lens. It
shows you just how much racing actually goes on and the grandstands. Believe me there is not a bad
seat in the house!!!!
Mark Martin lead the first 17 laps of the race as Tony Stewart got a bad start from his first Winston Cup pole start. Here is Jeff Gordon leading Mark Martin as he tries to catch him down the back stretch. Jeff Burton lead at this point in the race.
Rusty
Wallace leads early in the race. Jeff Burton follows closely as does Jeff Gordon. Martinsville is
"close quarters" and the racing is non stop. Again, note the numbers on pit wall. This was the first Martinsville race with the new single, long pit road with pit assignments in the corners NASCAR allowed them to put their numbers on the wall. Even pit road is crowded at MArtinsville.
Mark Martin leads Rusty as the caution flies. Rusty would beat him out of the pits.
Jeff leads the race with 209 laps complete.
