Back in the day where nothing mattered except NES, there were a few people who helped harbor my addiction to the little video game console.  Although I myself did not have an NES, I played a lot at friend's houses, and it was usually quite a task to pry me away from the magical system.
One of my NES friends, probably my best NES friend, was Aki Miyasaka.  Aki and I played NES whenever I went over to his house.  I remember it like it was yesterday...walking through his front door, taking off my shoes, and walking through their kitchen on my way to their living room and the NES system.  I remember watching in amazement as Aki opened a cabinet, showing off his dozens of NES games.  I remember how he would tell me a little bit about a few games, and then let me pick one of them to play.  And, best of all, I remember playing the game until my mom came and I had to leave.  The great thing about Aki was that he kept his NES forever.  He may still have it, I don't know.  His family moved away when I was in 5th grade.
My other NES friend was Jimmy Rodman.  I was probably Jimmy's best friend in first and second grade.  I remember the numerous times when I would go over to his house to get my fill of Hoops and RBI Baseball.  Ahh, Hoops.  I used to love that game, but now when I play it, I think "I used to like this?".  Anyways, on more than one occasion Jimmy wanted to turn the NES off and go do something else.
The only current NES friend I have is Chris Malone.  He knows a lot about NES games, mainly because his older brothers used to have one when he was little.  His favorite game is Skate or Die, but he also loves RPGs and is really good at them.  Whenever he comes over to my house, we play NES for hours.  Right now it's the summer, and it's not uncommon for him to spend more time at my house during the day than at his.  Why?  Because I have the NES, that magical system.
