Kaz: Welcome back to World's Strongest NES Cart.  Before the second event begins, I'm going to hand it over to Double L, who attended the SMB/DH/WCTM press conference.
Double L: Thanks Kaz.  Apparently SMB/DH/WCTM has a strained gluteus maximus.  Although the trainers believe that he will be able to compete in the Drop, SMB/DH/WCTM has held off on making a decision.  He'll decided just minutes before he is slotted to go.
Kaz: The supense builds, doesn't it?
Double L: Definitely.  If SMB/DH/WCTM is unable to compete, the competition is pretty much wide open.  Ok, it looks like the Drop is ready to start - Duck Hunt is approaching the platform.
Kaz: Duck Hunt had a horrible performance in Round One.  He's just looking for an adequate one here, just to get him on the right track.
Double L: I'd like to remind the readers that the drop event is graded by judges.  All carts are attempting the same drop, a triple-backflip one-and-a-half twister.  The three judges will grade the cart from 1 to 10.  In past competitions, the landing has proven to be key.
Kaz: This event is quite a dangerous one.  Keep in mind that the carts are landing on cement.  Double L, you really should get a scanner or something so you can put up pics of this.
Double L: Kaz, next time you tell me what to do I'll kick you off the show.  Ok, Duck Hunt is preparing for his jump.
Kaz: This is not Duck Hunt's forte.
Double L: He jumps...twisting, flipping, -BOOM- oh what a nice landing!!!
Kaz: That will set a tough standard for the other competitiors.  Duck Hunt, who traditionally does horribly in this event, has set a high mark.
Double L: The judges scores are in...9.0, 8.5, 8.5.  An average of 8.66, a fantastic score!
Kaz: Looks as though he's been able to keep his confidence after that poor showing.
Double L: Wasting no time, SMB/DH is up on the platform.
Kaz: Notice his composure, he looks cool as a cucumber up there.
Double L: He leaps, flipping...oh, he didn't get the last half twist in.  His scores will surely reflect that mistake.
Kaz: And they do...6.5, 7.0, 7.5.  An average of 7.00.
Double L: Look at SMB/DH/WCTM down there...he looks somewhat distressed.
Kaz: From the look on his face, I'm not sure he's going to compete.
Double L: We don't have time to contemplate it...the winds that have been here since the start of the competition have now subsided and SMB is taking advantage of the opportunity.
Kaz: He might be rushing a bit too much...
Double L: He jumps off the platform, one, two, oh dear!
Kaz: He landed on his back, unable to get in the third flip!
Double L: Let's look at the instant replay...
Kaz: Oh, he slipped just as he was jumping...it appears that he did rush a bit too much.
Double L: That's a huge mistake...the scores are 5.0, 6.0, 6.0.  An average of 6.66.
Kaz: We're now getting word that SMB/DH/WCTM is not competing.
Double L: And I have to say that it's a smart move.  Because Duck Hunt won the competition, SMB/DH got second, and SMB got third, it creates a very tight race.  Even though he chose not to compete, SMB/DH/WCTM still finds himself atop the leaderboard.
Kaz: SMB/DH/WCTM will undoubtedly be ready for the next event, the bat smack.  Until then, here are the standings, with 2 events completed:

SMB/DH/WCTM - 1st place, 5 points
DH - 1st place, 5 points
SMB - 3rd place, 4 points
SMB/DH - 3rd place, 4 points

Double L: This is Double L for Bill Kazmaier.  See you next time right here on NEStopia for the third event of World's Strongest NES Cart.
