Save Our Strays: This site is devoted to humane education that saves animal's lives. They have lots of great information on the pet overpopulation problem, and ways to help educate the public. Alley Animals: This rescue organization is located in Baltimore, Maryland. Like us, they rescue stray dogs in the city. Every other night they travel in pairs through the city, feeding more than 3000 animals, and rescuing those in desperate need. They have adoption days and information booths at local events. Their site is very well made and informative. Animal Ark: This is a no-kill rescue located in Twin Cities, Minnesota. They rescue all kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, hamsters, lizards, and more. Their site has lots of good information. Mercy Crusade: An organization dedicated to helping and finding homes for all kinds of animals. They are very active in pro spay/neuter activities. Valley Dog Rescue: This group patrols the animal shelters in Western and other parts of Colorado for dogs that are facing euthanasia. They have a very high adoption rate. St. Roch Dog Rescue: This rescue is located in Claremont, California. They rescue all types of dogs, and use foster families to socialize their rescues. S.O.S Dogs (Save our Small Dogs): Specializes in the rescue of small dogs, especially Yorkies, Bichons, and Maltese. Abandoned Terrier Rescue Association: this Southern California Rescue takes in abandoned terriers, particularly Lakelands, Wire-haired Fox, Airedales, and Welsh Terriers. For The Love Of Animals: A volunteer organization whose main objective is to actively educate the public about the homeless animal crisis, and to rescue as many of these animals as possible. Adopt-A-Pet: A no-kill shelter specializing in the placement of homeless dogs in the Washington State area. Good pet resource links. Animal Aid Society: A no-kill shelter located in Virginia. Animal Rescue Team, Inc.: This organization was established in 1975, and is very active in the spay/neuter of feral cats, and spay/neuter assistance for families who cannot afford the surgery. They also place homeless dogs and cats in good homes. Benevolent Animal Rescue Committee: A California rescue organization specializing in the rescue of dogs and cats from area shelters and humane societies. Citizens for Humane Action, Inc: This organization, based in Ohio, helps abandoned, abused, neglected and/or injured animals. They are active in spay/neuter and placement of their animals in good homes. Dog & Animal Welfare Group: A rescue group in Tennessee that provides food, shelter, veterinary care, and lots of love to abandoned animals. Lots of good dog stories and pics! Dogwood Animal Shelter: Located in the Lake of the Ozarks area of Missouri. They find homes for unwanted dogs and cats. Protectors of Animals: A rescue that focuses on dogs and cats that are stray, abused, or impounded. Located in Connecticut. Homes For Endangered and Lost Pets: An Illinois state licensed shelter that rescues stray animals and places them in foster homes until new adopted families can be found. They stress spay/neuter education. Friends of Homeless Animals: A Virginia no-kill shelter/rescue serving the Washington, D.C. area since 1973. Lots of photos of their pets for adoption. Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary: A no-kill animal sanctuary in Arizona. They complete over 1200 adoptions a year! Big supporters of spay/neuter. Peninsula Animal Welfare Society (PAWS): A rescue for all types of cats and dogs. They have lots of photos of their current pets up for adoption; please check out their site! |
