RICK - Update Sept. 20, 2001

The reward for Rick has gone up from $500 to $10,000. Police believe that this animal abuse crime occurred within a 2-mile radius of Lafayette Square. Rick was found on June 25th with acid burns to his face and body along with a 30-pound chain pad locked into his neck. He was rescued at the corner of Park Ave. and Dolman St.

Rick is being adopted!!!! He is living with a trainer, behaviorist, Doreen Olson and soon to go to his new family. He will never suffer again..

Rick has become quite the celebrity. He has been on TV, Radio and recently had the opportunity to play ball with Tony LaRussa. Tony said he is better at catch than most of his outfielders. Rick also got the chance to pee on first base!!

A special thanks To Ellie Torgeson who first spotted Rick and gathered up a group of volunteers to get him rescued! We will continue to update everyone on Rick's progress and if we get the person responsible for this horrific case of animal abuse. Thanks also to the wonderful support of the St. Louis community.
