statements made after the terrorist attacks. The November issue of the NRA magazine America's 1st Freedom offers these gems, among others: NBC "News" morning gabfest host and tabloid cover boy Matt Lauer saying "pilots are human beings; they get depressed; they get suicidal; they get angry. If they're armed, isn't that a formula for disaster?"(A formula for disaster are fools like this warping the minds of the uninformed)
Feds Sue Over BB Guns 
Tuesday's lawsuit contends the guns are defective because BBs can become lodged in the magazine of the airguns, even though  the airgun can appear empty. That, the suit says, can lead to children playing with the weapons, believing them safe. The stuck  BB can then become dislodged, causing death or serious injury if
 fired in the direction of another person.(Injuries such as these are caused by violating every rule of gun safety. The answer is clearly 'Education' . Once again, the "Keep em Ignorant Keep em Safe" approach is not working. Basic gun safety should be taught to every child. I would recomend "Gun Proofing Your Child" from the NFA.  Because, if you could sue, or legislate personal stupidity out of the population, most of our politicians would be missing.)
Nuclear attack 'a real possibility'
General Aleksandr Lebed, the former Russian security czar, said in 1997 that portable nuclear  bombs and tactical nukes had disappeared from Russia's arsenal. In testimony before the Congressional Military Research and Development Subcommittee in October, 1997, Gen. Lebed said there were bombs made to look like suitcases that could be detonated by one person with less than 30-minutes preparation.(If a suitcase nuke goes off 'anywhere' in the western world, a retaliatory strike vaporizing the the entire Afghanistan area where Bin Laden is thought to be hiding is inevitable. Better Late Than Never, Growing Numbers Realizing Importance Of Self-Defense 
In his excellent book, A Nation Of Cowards (Accurate Press, 2001), Jeff Snyder says: "Our society suffers greatly from the beliefs that only official action is legitimate and that the state is the source of our earthly salvation.... As long as law-abiding citizens assume no personal responsibility for combating crime, liberal and conservative programs will fail to contain it." Well, it appears -- at least in the short-run following September 11 -- that an increasing number of such citizens are realizing that that they have both a right and a duty, a personal responsibility, to defend themselves. I hope and pray that this continues. At the very least, so-called "homeland defense" begins at home. And this means that against foreign or domestic terrorists we must defend ourselves the same way our forefathers did -- by having a proper firearm for home defense and knowing how to use it. (Waiting for a response to a 911 call is not an option. People 'have' to take responsibility for their own, and their families safety. The police are not legally obligated to show up in time, or even get the address correctly. Statistics show, there are more violent acts per 100,000 people in Canada, than in the U.S. Why? because most Canadians are unarmed and/or think it illegal to shoot someone in self defence. Ottawa must avoid deficit, Martin tells provinces 
OTTAWA - Federal Finance Minister Paul  Martin refused to give his provincial counterparts a pledge Sunday to put more money into health care and other social programs.   At a meeting in Ottawa, Martin told  them that the federal government must now dig into its extra revenue to pay for increased security as well as the military campaign in the fight against terrorism. (To maintain the useless function, and incredible waste of money attributed to the CFC at times such as this, would be truly obscene. NOW is the time to repeal this useless legislation and replace it with a far better, and much less costly system. I.E. the NFA's Practical Firearms Control System. )
U.S. Border Patrol moves 100 agents to Canadian border
EL PASO, Texas, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- The Border Patrol on Sunday will begin shifting 100 agents from the Mexican border to the Canadian border for national security reasons, a patrol spokesman said Thursday.  The temporary assignment will be reassessed in 30 days to determine whether additional officers need to be deployed, according to Doug Mosier a patrol spokesman in the El Paso office.  Mosier would only say the deployment was "a national security issue." Since Sept. 11, patrol agents have taken on additional duties, including airport security in some areas of the country. (Canadian border 'Employees', are unable to protect our borders.  You can't call them guards, because they are unarmed and incapable of protecting their own lives, or  forcibly detain armed terrorists. Why you ask? Because Liberal brain farts (you can't call it thinking)  would hesitate to introduce firearms into an already dangerous situation. That's why our military is also so poorly equipped.)
Gun Sales Skyrocket Since September 11 
Vermont gun dealers are reporting sales increases of 30 to 50 percent in the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11th. The sales increase far exceeds the predictable hunting season sales spike.  In addition much of the increase is for the sales of non-hunting firearms  such as handguns and short-barrel shotguns, according to gun dealers.   Many of the customers are reportedly first-time gun owners.  And some dealers report that the terrorists threat has prompted even some gun-control advocates to buy firearms for self-defense. (Vermont has NO gun control laws on the books, you can simply walk into a gun shop, get the instant check, and walk out with the gun of your choice. Vermont also has the Lowest Crime Rate in the U.S. When you feel your life is in danger, even gun Control Fanatics will not hesitate to use a gun in self defence, unless of course there are the ones that feel their life is worth much less than their attacker's)

OTTAWA (CP) — The federal government is refunding firearms registration fees to those who have already paid them and offering free registration to those who haven't in (desparate) efforts to get more guns registered.(This Snakeoil pitch started on the east coast Sept.11th "See NFA alert" What they don't tell you is (1) You Don't have to register until Midnight December 31 2002. (2)Once you (or somebody in your name: the form does NOT have to be signed)  have accepted the Free Registration, if you buy any guns after that date you will be charged the $25.00 registration fee for each Gun. If you wait until the last miniute (and the C.F.C. has not been flushed to where it belongs) ALL your guns (that you wish to register of course, using the NFA guidelines) will cost you $18.00 Total. ME? I'll gamble $18.00 that this whole boondoggle will vanish before the deadline over a year away, and YOU should TOO.. Bury them in paperwork and verifications.)
Coast Guard post sprayed by crop duster 
A crop duster sprayed a white substance on the U.S. Coast Guard post just north of the Natchez-Adams County Port in the lower Mississippi River," the Associated Press reports. No word on what the  substance was. On Friday a crop duster sprayed a towboat and a pleasure boat on the lower Mississippi. Reports of Mohamad Atta's interest in crop dusters--presumably as a way of delivering biological or chemical weapons--make the Mississippi incidents unsettling.(A cropduster spraying an area where a cropduster normaly should not be spraying, should be filled with as many holes as possible in the name of self defence. Any pilot with half a brain would not pull a stunt like that in times such as these, and should be treated as a direct threat to your life..)

Two men arrested in Fort McMurray, Alta., on suspicion they were involved in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks passed RCMP background checks to get taxi-driving licences in the northeastern Alberta city. Emad Jamal Shawkat Hassan, 33, entered Canada on Aug. 12 using an invalid U.S. resident alien card and a Virginia state driver's licence. His routing took him from Jordan to Germany and Calgary. He was deported from the United States on May 27 after serving 34 months for being convicted of a $1.2-million food stamp fraud. There is a warrant for his arrest in Illinois for violating probation. He has at least 14 aliases. Mohamadkhair Salah, 37, who gave his full name to his Immigration hearing as Mohamadkhair Salem Abdulah Mustafa Salah, is said by Immigration to have 16 aliases. He arrived in Vancouver in November of last year on a routing from Palestine to Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Korea.( A "Trust the System" Background check missed all of the above! How did they even catch these guys? Did they walk into a doughnut shop and give themselves up? Maybe the government should waste less police manpower on farmers, hunters, and target shooters, and more time on tracking all the bogus refugees they released into the population.)

"Although approval for pilots to carry guns is still pending in the U.S. Congress, airline pilots are already signing up for gun-safety classes, the Associated Press reported Oct. 13. Last week, the Senate approved a measure that would allow pilots to carry guns. It awaits House of Representatives approval. If approved, it's not the first time pilots would be allowed to carry guns. Until the mid-1980s, pilots were allowed to have guns in the cockpit. Bonanza Airlines, for example, implemented a voluntary gun-training program after a suicidal man shot and killed a pilot and co-pilot on a 1964 flight from Reno, Nev., to San Francisco, Calif."What about Canada? Most said they would be willing to pay something extra for their airline tickets to fund new security measures.(If the Same poll were held in Canada, I think most Canadians would vote the same way. Verifiers have been laid off and staff directed to ignore the errors on registration applications. The firearms registry is the biggest garbage collection system in the country. (The Liberals HAVE to listen Now. With 7 provinces and territories 'opting out', Soon to be Eight,  not doing something positive to clear up this mess would only be showing contempt for Democracy. Which do you see as being the most important thing for Canadians right now? Apprehending Terrorists, or harassing Law Abiding hunters, target shooters, and farmers?)

(He has also shown that Canadian use firearms over 60,000 times per year to defend life or property. If only 1 in 40 of those cases resulted in a life saved, Firearms are saving over 1500 lives per year. But Liberal gun control has nothing to do with crime, or saving lives. Armed air marshals
Armed air marshals are effective and necessary for the security of Canadian passengers and,  secondarily, for the competitiveness of our airline industry. Mr. Collenette must drop his opposition to them which, one suspects, is based not a cogent analysis of the pros and cons, but on the Liberal fixed and unreasoning opposition always and everywhere to the possession and use of firearms.(All Canadian Airlines will have a hard time recovering until people feel safe. OTTAWA - Violent protesters who destroy property and endanger lives in the name of a political cause could fall under the broad measures of the government's proposed anti-terrorism legislation, predicted MPs from  across the political spectrum yesterday.(With more Liberal People Control Legislation, this part of the law would simply allow the arrest of  ANYBODY at a protest where some misguided idiots resort to violence. It would then be up to the person arrested to 'prove' they were not committing an act of terrorism. A considerable  portion of the violence is cause by police over reaction, (APEC?) and this would give the police, and government the ultimate power to overreact. Presumed Guilt and subsequent arrest by simply being in the policed area will be rampant, and government sanctioned)
Ottawa unwittingly assists terrorism
The first step is to claim refugee status, allowing the claimant to remain in Canada while their case works its way through Canada's often cumbersome immigration and refugee regulations. Next comes applications for Canadian benefits -- welfare and health cards granting access to medical care. That is used as a base salary as they establish themselves.(Then,  they are patted on the back, and reminded to Vote Liberal if they ever decide to become a Canadian Citizen. But of course, there is no reason to become a Canadian Citizen, because thanks to the un- elected, largely Liberal appointed, supreme court, they already get all the financial and legal benefits without the burden of  ever having to acquire citizenship.)

Police get vast power of arrest
OTTAWA - Canadians  could face arrest without warrant and be forced to testify before a judge without charge under  sweeping anti-terrorism legislation tabled yesterday by Anne McLellan, the Minister of Justice. Conceding that provisions such as arrest without a warrant are "basically new" to Canadian law, Ms. McLellan said she would be comfortable defending all the measures before any court as reasonable limits to individual rights. "The Charter does not suggest for a minute that any rights are absolute," she said, noting that Section 1 of the Charter allows for limitations as  justified in "free and democratic society."(And THIS coming from a Government that believes ONLY the Police and Soldiers should have guns! Seeing that Chrétien going to be the Second Liberal Prime Minister to curtail the rights of Canadians, perhaps, we should be fearing the Liberals as much as we fear the Terrorists, and watch them just as close. I'm not saying that some of these laws are not needed,  just that the Liberals are not to be trusted with this power, and have to be monitored to head off inevitable abuses)
Martin ('STILL) waits to decide on budget
OTTAWA - Paul Martin, Finance Minister, insists he is still waiting to find out whether a new budget will be
needed to pay for the government's planned counter-terrorist measures, expected to be unveiled  tomorrow. Mr. Martin said economic conditions in Canada are not yet as dire as those in the United  States, but added his department is focused on ensuring that Canada avoids a repeat of 1990-91, "when the U.S. went into an eight-month recession and Canada ended up in a four-year slowdown."(Seing that we have not HAD a budget in TWO YEARS what the hell is he waiting for? That "four-year slowdown" sure looked like a recession to everyone NOT on the Government payroll! We can not afford the C.F.C., and Canadians will not stand for the huge waste of money it represents. The wasting of a Billion Dollars at a time of great need for our Military, and homeland security is simply obscene. The Liberal Paranoia of 'everything' to do with guns has got to be treated, and exposed to the 'real' world for the sickness that it is. OTTAWA - Terrorists are clearly gathering information for their next move and the target could be Canada's nuclear facilities, a former official with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service says.(The prevailing winds from Pickering, or Darlington Plants in Ontario would carry toxins directly into N.Y. State. Maybe that's the reason for the f-18's patrolling the north shore of  Lake Ontario. McDonough told reporters that she's not worried the NDP is the only federal political party opposed to the U.S. led air strikes against Afghanistan's ruling Taliban. Amendment To Arm Airline Pilots Adopted In The U.S. Senate
When the Aviation Security Act comes before the House, I hope you will use your leadership position to allow
amendments to the bill that would let pilots be armed. There are plenty of aviation engineers who agree that bullet holes will not cause a massive depressurization in a plane. If depressurization was truly a concern, then why are we even considering putting air marshals on planes? Their bullets will be no different from the ones being used by the pilots. But more to the point, there is no way we can get an air marshal on all 35,000 daily flights. So the only way to deter these terrorists is to make sure that our last line of defense -- the pilots -- can protect the plane. Reinforcing the cockpit doors is also a good idea, but it's not a panacea. Are we to assume that on a long trip the door will NEVER be opened? That pilots will NEVER take a bathroom break? That there is no one among the flight crew who will ever have the keys or security codes to open the door? Reinforcing the cockpit doors can help. But the only way to stop terrorism on board aircraft is to let these villains know in advance that, if they ever try to invade the cockpit, they'll be sorry.  Please support language that will allow pilots to be armed, and thus, will enable them to protect the lives of their crewmembers and passengers. Thank you. (This may mean that American Flights WON'T be coming into Canada. I Doubt if American Pilots or their Companies would allow the Paranoid Liberals of Canada to enter cockpits, and confiscate their firearms on arrival as they have been doing to U.S. Private Corporate Aircraft..The Liberal  Mass Delusions, and  fear, that  guns have no legitimate use in society, is endangering the lives of ALL North American People. WASHINGTON - The FBI issued a nationwide alert yesterday, exactly one month after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, that it had information there might be further attacks within the United States and against U.S. interests in the next few days.(F-18's have been patrolling lake Ontario. Darlington, and Pickering Nuclear Plants are right along that route. A strike to one of these plants would result in the prevailing winds dispersing radiation into New York State, as well as turning  most of southern Ontario into the equivalent of Chernobyl.)

Canadian man was killed in a popular Kuwait market when a gunman walked up behind him and  fired repeatedly in an attack that may be related to the U.S.-led bombing of Afghanistan. The Canadian, reported by a Kuwaiti newspaper to be Luke Adiry, 36, an aircraft technician at south Kuwait's Ahmad al-Jaber air base, where U.S. forces are stationed, died immediately from bullets to his head and body. PM to unveil stricter security measures
 the government is still studying whether to take over policing at airports from the combination of private companies, local police and RCMP that perform the function now, sources say. A decision is not expected this week, they said. Nor is the government likely to put sky marshals on planes as the Americans are doing. He made Canada a nuisance to Washington on  international criminal courts, land mines, missile defence, and Israel. We're lucky Mr. Bush still takes our calls.(We're ALL thankfull this pompus jerk is the former foreign affairs minister. )

After weeks of uncertainty about whether Canada will play a military role in the international campaign against terrorism, the U.S. formally  requested military support from Canada on Friday, Chretien said. But What can Canada actually do? I wonder what we could possibly have that the U.S. or Britain might need? We do have well trained soldiers that all Canadians can be very proud of, but very little modern equipment for them to use. Our aircraft lack the sophisticated data communications used by everyone else, We have Frigates, but not enough people to man them all. They are sending Sea King Helicopters, although not as effective as bombs, they do drop from the skies with alarming regularity. If the Taliban have "Rust Seeking Missiles" we done for!)

The head of the British Parliament's defence committee yesterday dismissed Canada as a "passenger" in NATO with inadequate military might to contribute to the war on terrorism. "Canada is an important player in the world, and we hope that will be eventually reflected in a  greater commitment to NATO and a greater
commitment to developing their armed forces, which have been in a state of decline for a long,  long time,"(Right now, Canada has only 8 MP's with any military experience what-so-ever. Liberal pacifist don't feel a military is very important, so why promote anything to do with arms or defence. War veteran charged
CHARLOTTETOWN -- An 81-year-old  man is facing a criminal charge and has been banned from flying with Air Canada for life after asking a baggage handler in Charlottetown whether she was looking for a bomb in his wife's change purse.( I guess you can be charged for asking a stupid question too! However, I would consider being banned from Air Canada as more of a reward than a punishment!)

If the pilots had been armed on Sept. 11, we would not be dealing with massive structures transformed into graveyards in a matter of hours. Ontario: Teen sentenced to write essay for firing fake gun at officer (Nat.Post wst to est.)
KITCHENER - A teen almost killed by a police officer after firing a paintball gun in the officer's direction has been sentenced to write an essay. A judge ordered the 17-year-old to describe how the officer must have felt when he drew his gun, believing he was being fired on. "I hope you understand how close you came to dying that day," the judge said. (This kid probably thought the whole thing was a big joke.. 'Splat the Cop Car'..hahaha..A few months ago in Bradford Ontario, The police were ordering a shooting suspect to halt,  Onlooking teenagers were chiding the man to keep walking, ignore the police, "Canadian Police are not allowed to fire their guns".. I'm sure a lot of stuff went through their minds when the suspect pulled out a sawed off shot gun and pointed it at the police. The police responded correctly, and protected their lives, as well as the lives of the chiding teenagers when they fired, killing the armed man before he could wildly fire his weapon. The suspect had also, shot himself in the leg as he was pulling the gun out of his pack. Sometimes Kids 'just don't think' and that's their biggest problem)
Gun control; Not part of perimeter debate
we are already hearing the voices of those who warn that a perimeter border will diminish our  sovereignty and threaten our identity. Local police and customs workers, for example, have raised the spectre of illegal guns making their way into Canada if the border is opened. And if Windsor is going to be at risk from guns transported from downtown Detroit, then you would also expect that the 50,000-plus residents of Grosse Pointe would be inundated with gun crime. Grosse Pointe has no officials on its border with Detroit checking individuals and vehicles. However, in Grosse Pointe crime related to guns is rare; it's an exceedingly safe place to live. There's no reason to expect that Windsor would face any greater threat with a more open border than would Grosse Pointe. (Vermont borders Quebec, and has NO gun control laws on the books. Any adult, can own anything, and carry it without permits or permission, and has the lowest crime rate in the U.S. Compare this with Washington D.C which has STRICT gun Control!  I wonder how "Wendy The gun control fanatic" would explain that? )

Will proposed terrorism bill curtail rights of Canadians?

The two other controversial elements of this omnibus bill, dealing with cruelty to animals and the firearms registry, will be put to a vote by the end of November.The opposition parties said the split was a major victory for them because it allows further debate on issues that have meet stiff resistance in rural Canada. Ms. McLellan, who had always rejected calls to split C-15, refused to acknowledge that it was indeed being broken up.(No of course Ms McLellan, it's not being broken up, Its just that common sense has prevailed, and its simply in two pieces, but not broken up!!! Greyhound halts all U.S. buses after crash
MANCHESTER, Tenn. (AP-CP) - A Greyhound  bus crashed today after a passenger reportedly slit the driver's throat. Six of the 38 people aboard were killed and Greyhound halted all service in the United States as a precaution, the company said. Two senior federal law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of  anonymity, told The Associated Press the FBI had found no immediate connection between the crash and its terrorist investigations.(Americans can carry concealed firearms on a bus, but sometimes a 'really' crazy person with a knife is too fast)

British Columbia Teachers' Federation is urging public school teachers to teach A Culture of Peace.
"A Culture of Peace" insults those who have died for our freedom and those who will risk their  lives in the days to come for the same cause. The terrorist enemy we face is not interested in  social or economic development. In fact, he seeks the opposite: In places such as Sudan and  Afghanistan, the imposition of strict Islamic law has brought widespread poverty and repression. There are times when Western nations must go to war to defend freedom. Now is one of those times. His talk about "smoking them out" or "draining the swamps" speaks to the mind-set of the hunter, gun under arm, waiting to blast away some critters. His stirring speech to Congress and the nation had the steely glint of the gunfighter ordering the bad guys out of town by nightfall. The refutation of Michael Bellesiles's  book makes clear that armed solutions are part of a long-standing tradition. Don't expect the  U.S. government to address the "root" causes of terrorism as many well-meaning Canadian (and some U.S.) commentators have urged. Do expect guns blazing at high noon.(If you don't fight, the alternative is surrender! Once you have 'surrendered' you then have the label of 'Victim'. Our government, which has denied the means of  personal armed defence to every law abiding Canadian, has crafted not a culture of safety, but a Culture of Victims. The Terrorists of this world are fully aware of that, and as a result, they never have to fear the "Rifle behind every blade of grass syndrome". We Are Vulnerable, and 50 Years of  Knee Jerk Response, Pacifist Governments, have legislated us in that direction. If this isn't a Wake-Up Call, I don't know what is!)

B.C. man flew with machine-guns, court told

UN resolution targets Canada

Native guides flout game laws: wildlife agents
OTTAWA - Undercover wildlife agents have discovered widespread law-breaking among native
hunting guides on the Walpole Island First Nation reserve, the Canadian Wildlife Service alleges. But Joseph Gilbert, chief of the reserve, says the federal wildlife agency had no right to conduct  its undercover sting. Now the reserve's native police will not co-operate with the wildlife service in bringing the 12 accused guides to court, and the chief is demanding a public apology.(Natives do NOT have the right to sell the resources of all Canadians Just because they are natives. Migratory birds do not JUST belong to Natives. Their own consumption is one thing, but claiming to have the right to sell those birds to outsiders is unacceptable, and may only show that they are not responsible enough to manage game resources within their lands )
A dozen Canadian MPs volunteer to join Armed Forces for educational week
Roger Gallaway, the MP for Sarnia-Lambton, Ont., went to boot camp and was almost shot during a simulated exercise. Bev Desjarlais, the NDP MP for Churchill, Man., who is afraid of heights, joined the air force for a week and ended up being dropped deep into an Ontario forest, and having to be airlifted into a Labrador helicopter. The program is modeled on one that has operated in the United Kingdom for more than adecade. Research showed only eight of Canada's 301 MPs had any exposure to the Armed Forces.(Well, here's hoping it will teach them something about our dwindling military capabilities. But then again, it won't make much difference, the PM and the 'inside rat pack'  don't pay much attention to backbenches, and you certainly won't see any BIG names doing this.)

Iris technology examines the unique patterns of the iris, the coloured ring around the pupil of the eye. Iris scans are non-invasive. A person  puts his or her face in front of a camera, which analyzes all the features. The system can be used to check passengers at the ticket desk, baggage check-in and boarding area. (And of course, your scan will be added to the ever increasing Government database. Taking a flight, will result in the automatic Government registration of your physical identification. This is much easier than saying "Your Papers Please" and a lot less painful than having a number tattooed on your arm, or having a identification pellet injected under your skin just like the family dog.)
Airlines add surcharge to cover insurance costs
Air Canada and Canada 3000 followed on the heels of WestJet and announced a $3 surcharge for each flight. The fee will be automatically added to the ticket price. (I would rather MY $3.00 go toward better Security & Armed Air Marshals, rather than having my pocket picked to cover the cost of insurance to replace planes, and pay out lawsuits.)
