![]() The crest of Montgurai
Side Notes: WARNING: Some of the information enclosed here has only recently declassified, and specific roles of each level are not entirely discussed. This is for the sake of national security, and all visitors are kindly asked not to use capture buffers, graphic-based screen savers, or flash photography. ![]() Vojaks have had little reason to change its battle technology in the past three centuria, and the battle suit Vojak units wear is one of the strongest points of evidence that historians use to validify the `Book of Trybes.' While every member of the Ferrata culture is trained in combat techniques from youth, enlistment in ArmSec is strictly voluntary. Of the 90 million or so registered Ferratus, more than 10% are either on active duty or in reserve standby. Specific troop numbers are classified. Only after a new dodget's graduation from classical and contemporary battle academies and tactical assessment schools will he or she be awarded a fresh suit. Suits are given out during graduation ceremonies called, approprietly, the "donning of Skins." ![]() Specifications on how the Vojak suit works will not be made available. International petition or diplomatic pressure, as was exerted on Christiana to disclose spcifics of their Eletro Mundi device, will not be successful. While `religious respect' is the official purpose for lacking air units, political observers note that the Ferratu only left the multitude of underground caverns and caves underneath the Cradle about 200 yahrs ago. Until that time, only a select few had even SEEN the sky, much less researched navigating it.

ARMED SECURITY & MILITARY AFFAIRS
![]() By His direct order, the tier's functions are hereby declassified. The command hierarchy, for the record, is opposed to this disclosure of information for security reasons, but will comply with His command. -Rector d'acies Hood'presul, Armed Security and Military Affairs ![]() History and training Vojak units were for centuries, and still are, Ferrata's first line of defense. Their training is specialized, but diverse. History records that Vojaks have stood, and would still stand, between harm and Ferratu civilians or any other unarmed populace. Vojak units were created in the Udias by the Horn Montgurai initially to act as anti-terrorist units. However, their numbers grew so rapidly from the millions that following the war lord, that he sent many to work with the understaffed SeFinch (who would later assign many of them to be what are now called monarc, or civillian policing, officers to cut down on inter-trybe crime). Those that remained with Montgurai remained vojaks, and were trained in terrorist subversion and tactical practical warfare. ![]() Basic military training lasts a total of 36 weeks for those Ferratus who wish to career ArmSec. Full training for combat officers is much longer - six years - as those particular personnel must learn all facets of the combat arena. This includes basic flight instruction and air combat manuevers in Shrike combait aircraft, land-based tactical deployment and intrusion, military philosophy, psyche discipline, and battlefield armor repair, to name but a few. The Vojak officer is the complete soldier, with a well-earned reputation of being able to handle almost any type of engagement, in a myriad of vehicles, in every conceivable environment. "Vojak" Battle Suit Vojak battle units come from an age that was, apparently, far more advanced in thinking than current technology allows. While the manufacture, maintenance and operation of Vojak Battle Suits is now almost a perfected art in the high command, few if any Ferratus actually know HOW it works.
The armour is a mix of mechanized relay systems interlaced around - and held together by - an organic "skin", in that the suit can actually repair itself if damaged over a certain amount of time. Certain chemicals need to be applied, though, for full restoration (the exact scientific method used to create the suits is, of course, based in fact. For national security reasons, it will not be discussed here). The suit is one key to the success of the Vojak soldier. It is a shield, a weapon, and some have even called it a "friend", although GovOps and SciTech deny that the suits may be independently intelligence. But battle suits do apparently relay a distinct personaily trait to the wearer: once donned by a new soldier, the suit after a time augments that solider's aggression factor. The sensation of putting on a fresh battle suit is compared to having an andrenaline rush. Discipline is also heightened, making the unpracticed soldier prone to obey authorized orders without doubt or hesitation. ![]() ON THE SEA, IN THE AIR The sea-based equivalent to the Vojaks, Salt Wasps, comprise the bulk of Ferrata's navy. Salt Wasps battle cruisers are multi-mission (AAW, ASW, ASUW) surface combatants capable of supporting amphibious forces, or of operating independently and as flagships of surface action groups. Due to their extensive combat capability, these ships have been designated as Battle Force Capable (BFC) units. The cruisers are equipped with the Tri-Lox ASM/LAM anti-ship missile, giving them additional long range strike mission capability.
