This is ShyGirl’s (personal) Spice Diary. Basically, whenever something Spice happens to me, or I just feel like writing my personal thoughts about them, you'll find it here. And no, I’m not a newbie-fan: I became a fan the second time I laid my eyes on them, March ’97 (the first time I laid my eyes on them was December ’96...I didn’t know who the hell they were, cos all they were doing was introducing videos on MTV in Lapland), and I finally decided to write a bloody Spice Diary almost 2 years later...ah well. Anyways, I hope you guys find my personal thoughts entertaining..or..whatever;-\

Thursday, Oct 8, '98 - LoL! This chica cracks me up! Poor Melanie had a tear right in the middle of her ass at a Miami gig!;-(( Even though this article here says this story is "exclusive", our very own Linda Parham reported about the tear when she went to the gig herself. It was recalled that right after IUCD, Melanie ran off stage for some strange reason, then appeared on stage again but was late for the first few moments of WDYTYA. [gasp!] How EMBARRASSING!;-) ...Speaking about embarrassing... Her weave fell out during a concert in Europe, heheheh :-)
Sunday, Oct 4, '98 - I had this cheesy dream last night...me and these other people (they were mostly people from Road Rules..Devon, that girl who had a crush on Devon, Timmy, Susie, Keafla, and some other people..I know, I watch tooo much television..) and we had to climb this VERY steep hill, it was almost like a mountain, it had a lot of rocks and shit. It was sorta like girls against boys, and whoever got to the top of the hill, won a prize for the gender they were representing. I was climbing the hill pretty good, I was way up in front, and the only person who was infront of me was this one guy...so we were giving each other the eye like "I'm gonna beat you!" And then all of the sudden I heard these people from below cheering for me, so that made me even more determine to beat this guy....I was about 8 feet below him, and I thought I would never catch up, but then he slipped on some rocks and slid down for about 10 feet, so I took advantage, and I beat him! My team-mates were right behind me, and they got to the top too. Then all of the sudden, a HUGE audience of people down below were cheering for all of us, probably 5,000 people, and amongst that huge audience, I spotted this little girl...I could barely see her or hear her, but she was sticking two fingers out and I read her lips and she was yelling "Girl Power!"....I was like "HEELLLLLLL YEAH!!! Girl fucking Power!!! Wooo!"..it was fantasic. I've been studying this book on meaning of dreams, and I realized that that dream meant that I'm gonna run into some problems, but I'm gonna pull through it and end up on top. And I could get even more specific...see, from past experiences, October is the most dreadfulest month of the year, most of our family problems happen during that month, and the first day of October, I had a fight with my (27 yr old) sister, and the last time she had a fight with us (us, meaning me and my mom) was last October, and the fight before that, was in October, etc. But that didn't come as a complete surprise cos its not like we get along anyways. But what really surprised me, was that my mom is starting to get a little bitchy with me now...which is REALLY bad, cos she knows she needs support during this month, and I'm like the only one who supports her in this family, so I'm gonna try to be super nice to her and see if she'll come through. But you know whats REALLY weird?: Ok, my mom gets depressed during the Fall and Winter seasons (there's a proper name for that...something like Seasonal Depression or something), usually from Sept-Dec. Well, between my family, and the people and friends I truely love, NOBODY has a birthday during those months. Between my family and the Spice Girls (not including friends), every single month has a birthday: January (Em & Mel), February (brother), March (mom), April (Vic), May (me, Mel, David), June (niece), July (sister), August (my dad and Geri have birthdays on the same day)...January 12 is the first day of our birthdays, and August 6 is the last day of our birthdays...and between those months, everything is fine. Hehe, WOW, huh?:-P

Monday, Sept 28, '98 - This is not really Melanie related but who cares....I was watching I&I with Janet Jackson on Much Music (by the way, Much Music is 100-times better than MTV..and Master T is a complete babe;-)) and when she went outside the window to sign autographs, I expected a HUGE crowd of fans blocking the streets and going crazy (just like when the SG were there) because after all, she IS Ms. Janet Jackson...but I'd say the crowd wasn't even half the size compared to the SG crowd. Wow, how many people can say they've drawn a bigger crowd than Ms. Janet Jackson? I have witnessed 4...but hopefully 5..as soon as Geri gets her bloody act together...CORR! What's taking that chica sooo long?!
Friday, Sept 25, '98 - My Melly recorded a duet with Bryan Adams! Go Mel! I don’t really like that type of music, but if it has Melly’s voice on it, then it’ll probably grow on me:-) Melly-Mel’s my girl, by the way. So is Geri. The rest of them are my girls too, but Melanie and Ger are my top girls.

Thursday, Oct 8, '98 - You know what...in this article, it says that Geri is gonna be coming to the States in October to promote her Breast Cancer campaign! Yay! And I just PRAY that she's gonna be on Rosie, I think she would really get her message across if she appears on Rosie. And you know what else...people (mostly journalists) have been saying that Geri's "the next" Lady Diana...thats remarkable, to be even compared to Diana, but I sorta doubt that people will take her seriously enough, sad to say. Oh, btw, they didn't air the "Boyfriend, Girlfriend" song on Southpark yesterday :-| I don't know what happened! I'm soo pissed. Everytime I get really excited about a tv-show showing Spice, they end up posponing it, or I miss it, or some stupid shit like that. Its happened to me like 8 times already :-(
Tuesday, Oct 6, '98 - Read this article here. Sad to say, but this is going to be the first time I'm voting against the Spice Girls...its not necessarily that I have the right to know...its just that I'm nosy:-p I wanna know the REAL deal behind these 5 girls. And even if the guy lies about some of the stuff, remember this... Lies are usually either exaggerations of the truth, or the truth not told in full view..either way, lies evolve from truth, basically. And I knooow their privacy should be respected, BUT, I'm sure they were educated about this music/entertainment BUSINESS when they came into it (don't forget now, this IS a BUSINESS), so they were WELL aware of what would happen if they hit it big...they would no longer have a private-life...and if you can't handle that, then tough titties...cos your Public Relations Advisor advised you about it when you were still in Touch! ANYWAYS, change of subject. They're gonna premiere the song "Boyfriend, Girlfriend" on Southpark tomorrow (Wednesday the 7th on Comedy Central, at 10pm I think)! I never really watched that show before, I watched half of an episode one time and it was tooo funky, even for ShyGirl. I wonder if they're gonna make little cartoons of the Girls...hehe, that would be funny, cos those cartoons are funny lookin'.
Saturday, Oct 3, '98 - You know what? A couple of days ago on The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Rosie went with this lady to have a mamogram done together, and it was the lady's first mamogram and she was like 40, and the lady was REALLY nervous and scared but Rosie comforted her, and at the end the lady found out she was cancer-free, and it was really lovely and everything (don't wanna get too mushy now). And Rosie announced that every week, a celebrity is going to take a scared woman to have her first mamogram done...and I wouldn't be suprised if Geri voulenteered for this. Geri has done a LOT for cancer, and I truely appriciate that. The breast cancer scare Geri had, happened to my mom not too long ago...she's 50 and had her first mamogram last year and it was pretty frightening. My dad has cancer, and I had something similar to cancer, so I'm pretty happy that Geri's deciding to do all this stuff for cancer charities and stuff. ...Yeah, um, anyways, here's an article about Ger doing stuff for Comic Relief.
Tuesday, Sept 29, '98 - Geri smells of roses. Did'cha know that? Bet'cha didn't!;-) ...Have you ever heard the Spice Girls say something, and then you get it stuck in your head, and all day long you say it aloud with an English accent without even realizing it? I happens to me ALL the time, and right now, I got "Geri smells of roses"...its not the EXACT quote when I heard it, well, actually I READ it from that Rolling Stone interview last year, and the exact quote was something like "Noh, me knickers smell of roses" which was said by Mel G. Oh, here's a Geri related article...its about her new home she just bought.

Friday, Sept 25, ’98 - Ger was suppose to do an online chat at www.aegean.net but she didn’t:-( Someone emailed Aegean and Aegean said that it was just a rumour. I read in an article that the Girls (including Geri) would do a Spice Girls World Tour 2000, and by that time, I’ll be 18! So I told mom I was thinking when I turn 18, if I could go to England for a few months and study there, and while I’m there, I could also go to the Spice concert(s). She hasn’t really said "yes" or "no" yet, so we’ll see. Oh GEEZ, that would be excellent!!! I heard their music industry is quite large, and I’ve always wanted to work for a record company or be an A&R person, so I think it would be a good career move if I go to England for a few months....plus that’s the SPICE GIRLS’ homeland, and secretly, thats my main reason why I wanna to go there! Mi Chicas Picantes!

Sunday, Oct 4, '98 - Wait a minute, now there's ANOTHER girl claiming that she had a go with David! I'm beginning to feel that the tabloids are taking advantage of me:-| Read this article about tryst #2. BUT, in this other article everybody is denying everything...including the two girls! This *could* be another tabloid scam, we'll just have to wait and see.
Saturday, Oct 3, '98 - Ohhhh, David....he was kissin' another girl while Victoria was on the US tour. Her name's Emma and she's fuckin topless model. But the part that made me cringe the most, was when Emma kissed David's engagment ring...I find that quite disrespectful....I mean, the tart KNEW he was a soon-to-be married man, but she flirts with him anyways?! And I've seen a picture of this chick (somewhere on the internet) and she is no where NEAR as pretty as Victoria (in my opinion). I know Vicky left David all alone for a few weeks, but thats when hands come into the picture....besides, its not like it was several MONTHS...if it was, then I would sympathize a little...but it wasn't..so right now, I feel Victoria needs to give David a firm talking to. Tuesday, Sept 29, '98 - A few weeks ago Tor took a scan to see how the baby was developing, and they said it was a girl, but it says in this article that its most likely a boy cos Vic was spotted in the boy's department looking at blue clothes, rather than pink. I wanted her to have a girl...I dunno, but if I imagine it, it looks better if Vic and Dave had a girl in that stroller, with pink blankets and booties and bonnets and stuff...it'd look posher, I guess. Oh, I'm gonna be Posh Spice as a vampyre this Halloween! And my 7 year old niece is gonna be Sporty Spice as a vampyre, and its gonna be wicked! Before we go trick-or-treating, me mum's gonna videotape us performing Stop, Too Much, and SUYL and we got all the moves and personality traits down to a T: For Victoria, keep legs together (cos I have a tendency of spreading them and looking VERY un-laydee like;-)), look pouty for one second, then give a huge grin the next, then go back to the pout, point & stare, and shake those hips. For Melanie C, look sweet, smile, do a lot of hand and arm and leg and pelvis movements. THATS how its done!;-)
Tuesday, Sept 22, '98 - A couple of days ago, I saw Vucci on "House Of Style"....she had to visit a fraternity house jammed packed with 24 college girls (I forgot which University..somewhere in California....This fraternity is notoriously known for being "classy", as they put it), and Vic had to interview them about their style in clothes and stuff like that....and I think she did an excellent job! She was very natural, relaxed, but still, very professional. If she ever wants to do her own thing, I hope its hosting, or being a television interviewer. She said she wanted to be an entrepreneur...perhaps own a chain of restaurants...but I think she'd be more successful as an interviewer. As a matter of fact, House Of Style hires a new host every year...I'd just pray that they take notice of Posh Spice. Oh, one funny thing that happened was that the frat girls asked Vicky where she got her shoes, and Vicky said "Ah I got these frm Dolchie an Gabonna", and one girl was like "Oh, we don't have that here, do we?" and the other girl was like "Yeah we do. It's just her accent, you can't understand what she's saying", and Vicky let out this cute laugh, then they asked her to repeat it, and she said sweetly "Dolce & Gabbana....?", and they still didn't understand her, and one chica yelled out "Say it in English!"....ugh.

Monday, Oct 5, '98 - I bought the new Spice microphone today at Toys R Us. You remember how the old merchandise had the SPICE logo on it...the same logo thats on the 1st album (S=red/Victoria P=pink/Emma etc..), well they changed it! Booo! They cut out Geri, and now the "I" is blank, the "C" has MelG on it, and the "E" has MelanieC on it. When I saw it, I was like "Eww", but I guess they had to do it or else they would of been sued by millions of people for false advertising. Hehe, and it says you can hear yourself on the radio when you sing into the microphone...I saw that on the Simpson's one time, hehe.
Monday, Sept 28, '98 - I went to Virgin Megastore up in San Fran yesterday and got the "I Want You Back" import single! The remix is hella cool, I've been blasting it out of my car non-stop now. And I also got the OK! wedding album.
Friday, Sept 25, ’98 - Last night, I was up ‘til 3 in the morning, just looking at these wedding pics. Melanie is one of the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Just look at these pictures....don’t tell me she’s doesn’t look incredibly gorgeous, cos she does, dammit. I sorta lost respect for her lately, because of a lie she told, but after looking at these pics, and reading how beautiful the wedding was, I respect her more than ever now. ..Basically, this girl deserves it.
Tuesday, Sept 22, ’98 - Woohoo! A clue to what they’re gonna name their child: It begins with "P", and it’s a unisex name. During the Wedding Reseption, Mel and Jim got matching tattoos on their ring-finger: "MJP", "M" is for Melanie, "J" is for Jimmy, and "P" is for...? A lot of people are rejecting Mel’s new surname, Gulzar, and I think it’s completely disrespectful. If your loud-mouth sister, who embarrasses the shit out of you when you go out in public together, but you no doubtly still love her, got married and followed the several-hundred-year-old tradition and changed her surname, wouldn’t you respect her wish and address her by her new surname?...No matter HOW weird her name sounded? I think you would. So why would it be any different with Melanie?

Monday, Oct 5, '98 - Oh no...I just read that this girl I saw at the Vegas concert died of cancer a few days ago:-((( It was her wish to meet the Spice Girls, so she got tickets and backstage passes to the show, and she got to go on stage with Emma during "Where Did Our Love Go?". One of me buddies knew her, and lived round the corner from her....ahh geez, well at least the little girl (11 yrs old) got to fulfill her dream.
Saturday, Oct 3, '98 - I went to a halloween store today, and they had (cheap ass) Spice wigs...Baby, Posh, and Scary...something like $30 each wig! Pssh, anyways. And I also saw this little girl wearing a Spice shirt..I've never seen that Spice shirt before and I was about to ask her wear she got it, but I was too embarrassed:-\
Monday, Sept 28, '98 - There's a rumour going round that one of the Spices was sent to jail a couple of days ago...and it was thought that Emma was caught streaking and was arrested (LOL!), but apparently the story got twisted around a bit and it was GERI who went to jail...sorta. Woohoo! Emma was a runway model for one of the shows at London's Fashion Week! I wish they would stop doing soo much work and take a nice long vacation...weren't they SUPPOSED to take a holiday after the World Tour? I swear, these chicks are like little chipmunks...always gathering acorns when they don't really need any. I've always wanted a chipmunk as a pet, by the way. They're the cutest little things. I had a guinea pig once, and it would squeeeeek and it was soo fucking cute, but it died a few months ago:-(((( I have a little dog though, and two cats...dogs rule though, I've always had a dog around since I was a little baby...they're more sincere than cats..cats would pretend they're enjoying your company, but then they'd just jump up and rip your arm open for no fucking reason..:-|
Friday, Sept 25, ’98 - Jade is FINE! He’s Emma’s boyfriend. You know, I thought Emma liked *cream*, but nooo, she likes CHOCOLATE! Hell yeah!;-) But I’m not fully convinced that he’s black though, he looks Puerto Riqueño. I went to this Damage site and all of these guys look lovely, but not as lovely as Jade. Go Emma.
Tuesday, Sept 22, ’98 - ...Haha, Emma was trying to go for the bouquet when Mel tossed it up at the wedding, and this lady shoved Em out of the way...haha! I'm not being mean, it's just that...ever since I've known Emma, she's been like that older pathetic cousin who *seems* not too bright in the head, but you love her to bits anyways, and sometimes her pathetic little stunts turn out to be really funny and entertaining. I could NEVER dislike Emma, but lets say... if she wasn't a pop star...just a regular ol' girl....and she was in a class that I'm in, I don't think I would ever become good friends with her...I mean, we would get along, but I don't think she would ever invite me over to her house, visa/versa. She's just not my "style".
