Spells and Moves

Alucard, being a dhampire and half demon, is an avid magic user. Sometimes he needs relics to help him with some spells, but generally all he needs is the MP to pull them off. Despite what some people think, you DON'T have to buy the spell scrolls from the Librarian to do these spells. You only need the MP to pull them off, and most of them you can do from the start of the game. However, that isn't too wise. The more you use spells, the higher Al's INT goes up. But this also curbs his strength, so his overall STR goes down if your INT is too high, so only use a spell when necissary.

Summon Spirit (5 MP): B--F--D--U + ATT
Dark Metamorphosis (10 MP): B--UB--U--UF--F + ATT
Hellfire (15 MP): U--D--DF--F + ATT
Tetra Spirit (20 MP): U (hold for 2 seconds), UF--F--DF--D + ATT
Soul Steal (50 MP): B--F--DF--D--DB--B--F + ATT
Wing Smash (8 MP. NOTE: requires bat form): Hold down X, then input U--UB--B--DB--D--DF--F, then release X
Wolf Charge (10 MP. NOTE: requires wolf form: D--DF--F + ATT
Sword Brothers (30 MP. NOTE: requires Sword Familiar): D--DF--F--UF--U (hold for 2 seconds), D + ATT

Alucard also has a basic set of moves he can do. Some require relics, and some do not.....but you'll find that they're very helpful for most of the game, and some are needed to reach certain areas, or to find certain items.

Mid-air Roundhouse:(while in mid-air, DF + ATT) --This is a neat little kick that Alucard can do without any relics. However, he can only excecute it when he is either not wearing any weapon, or while wearing a fist weapon.
Double Jump: (jump, then jump again while still in mid-air) --A good move if you want to evade some enemies. It's also needed to reach certain areas, like Olrox's Quarters, and for navigating around the second castle. The Leapstone relic is required for this.
Drop Kick: (X--X--X. That is, do a double jump, then press X again.) --This attack, while not overly strong, is fun to watch, and sometimes may come in handy. It reminds me of the good ol' Super Mario days....heheh. Requires the Leapstone relic.
Evade (or as I call it, "scoot"): (press the dern triangle button) --Okay, sort of obvious, but it still has its uses. One of the more amusing ones is simply to watch Alucard twitch his butt.
Super Jump (4 MP): (D--U + X) --This is a cool jump to watch, and it's fairly useful in reaching high places quickly. I prefer to use this instead of flying around as a bat. This is also the way you obtain the items from the "Bopping the Librarian" thing (don't worry, I'll explain that someplace). Requires the Gravity Boots relic.
Run (as the wolf): (F--F) --A good way to get through an area quickly. This takes MP, but only as much as it requires to hold the form of the Wolf (I think it's 2 MP per second). You can run even faster after you obtain the Power of Wolf, and damage enemies by running through them. Requires Soul of Wolf relic.
Fireball (as the bat): (Square or Circle) --Okay, fairly obvious here. You shoot one fireball at a time. However, if you have the bat familiar with you, it'll shoot a fireball at the same time you do. Requires the Soul of Bat and Fire of Bat.
Echolocation (as the bat): (triangle button) --Another obvious one, but I should list it anyway. This is useful when you have to navigate through the dark spiked room in the catacombs. Alucard must use the echolocation in order to "light" up the room, so he can make his way through. The echolocation can also damage enemies if you've aquired the Force of Echo (why do I always think of a Rush album when I hear that name?), although not as much as the fireball. Requires the Soul of Bat and the Echo of Bat relics.
