On the morning of March 27, 1999 Linda drove her mom to PetsMart where they have animals that need to be adopted. They waitted until all the dogs had arrived, only to learn that they were all large size dogs and puppies.....no small to medium size short haired dogs that were 2 or 3 years old.
Amongst the dogs was a medium sized short haired brown dog that just laid in the cage as quiet as could be. It didn't even look up when they came by and talked to it. Also in the cage was a small black and white puppy that was excitedly asking to be taken home, but yet it was the quiet little dog that caught their eye. She was a 3 year old German Shepherd/Sheltie mix, which got her short hair from the Shepherd and her size from the Sheltie.
They asked to see "Jasmine" outside of her cage, and she was calm, cool, and collected although there were dogs and puppies barking all around her. She seemed to be unfrazzled by the noisy camotion, so Mom decided to adopt her. As soon as the paperwork was completed they took her outside into the sunlight, and she immediately perked up into a sweet and loveable little creature.
A stop on the way home to purchase some needed supplies turned into a very enjoyable experience for everyone....Jasmine included. They were greeted by friendly employees and customers alike who showed Jasmine the attention that she craved. By the time they arrived back at Frank and Linda's home she was already a part of the family!
After meeting Frank and Jericho (Frank and Linda's 7 month old German Shepherd puppy) and spending some time getting acquainted, Mom went on home where she introduced Jasmine to her new brother, Rusty, the cat. After a good time of playing chase and barking, they all settled down for an enjoyable life together.
