My grandfather came to the USA from Lettomanoppello in 1900. His name was Giacinto Mancini and his wife's name was Rita Gizzi (she was born in Sulmona, province of Pescara). Giacinto had a brother Alessio and a brother Vincenzo who also emigrated to the U.S.  Giacinto's parents were Angelantonio MANCINI and Santa DI PAOLO; they were born in Lettomanoppello and were married there in 1858.  Angelantonio was born about  1825 and was the son of Luigi Mancini and Anna IACAVONE.  Santa was born about 1833 and was the daughter of Donato DI PAOLO and Pasquarosa DI PIETRANTONIO.

Any information that can be had on Domenica Nicolai and Camillo Simone would be appreciated.  Domenica's mother remarried when she was a young girl, therefore, it's unclear if she was actually from LaRocca or LuLette.  She lived in both towns. References to her as being Domenica d'albarose, La Struchine and Domenica Di Matte.

Married to Camillo Simone from LaRocca, together they had 10 children - Cesidio (Cid), Salvatore (Sam), Donato (Danny), Maria, Santino (Sandy), Agostino (Gus), Emilio, Angelina, Rosalia (Rosie), Pasquale (Pat).   Camillo was referred to as Camille de Tonde and Camille d'albarose.  Cid, Sam, Danny, Sandy and Gus immigrated to Canada intermittent between the early and mid 50's, followed by their parents and younger siblings in 1957.

The majority of the offspring have married piesani and familial intertwining has ensued with families Menna, Palumbo, Esposito, D'Alimonte (2) and DiGiovanni.   Any information on these families would be appreciated.  Thanx.

My father, Leonardo Celestino Profenna, was born in Lettomanoppello in 1930 to Emidio Profenna and Filomena Di Gregorio.  My father came to America in 1960 (or so).  We visited his parents many times.

My Aunt and Godmother, Sofia (Profenna) Addario, still lives in Letto on Via Scafa.  She just built a home large enough for herself and my Uncle (Camillo Addario), and their two sons with their wives and grandchildren on Via Scafa.

I spent two summers in Letto while in college.  I stayed with my grandparents, who lived on Via Vittorio Emanuele across from the belvedere.  I would go to Mario's bar for ice cream and made friends with Anna Maria Donatella, whose parents owned the local store. She was the only one young person in town that spoke English.
