Even more unfair, he said, Quebec will not be penalized under Kyoto even though it plans to flood vast tracts of forested lands to build hydroelectric dams using enormous quantities of cement. "I don't want to pick on Quebec, but they will be destroying millions and millions of trees and forested land to create the power and there's no evironmental penalty for this under this deal? That's why Bernard Landry [the Quebec Premier] wants Ottawa to sign Kyoto," Mr. Klein said. "At least he's honest about the reason why. I'm at an absolute loss as to why they would do this knowing there are going to be very serious impacts. Why are they doing it? Misguided criminal reform
As things stand, the code requires that, for example, a defendant convicted of a violent crime involving a gun must serve at least four  years in prison. Mr. Cauchon reportedly wants to loosen the minimumsnd give judges more discretion.(STILL the very first thing thrown out in any criminal trial is the "Gun Charge". The feds have spent a BILLION dollars on a completely ridiculous gun control system targeting ONLY the law abiding, and the courts are largely ignoring the minimum sentences for crimes involving a firearm.)
Modern day gunslingers

Smuggler's alley is no easy street

'Another' 600 Million Dollar Liberal Computer System to Be Scrapped

Gun squad credited with falling murder rate
Toronto police are crediting the work of a new gun task force with a 27 per cent decline in the number of murders this year. Clarke says the decline is good news and suggests the creation of a Toronto  Police Services gun task force has helped cut the numbers of killings. He said last year at this time, half of the city's murders had been committed with  firearms. In response, some police resources were shifted to create a gun squad.  "We saw there was a problem, and tried to solve it,'' said Clarke. Fourteen of the city's murders (42 per cent) this year have been shootings, an overall decrease of nine slayings. (This is what happens when the 'police' get a chance to go after the 'illegal' firearms in Toronto. Orphaned bear cubs faring well heading into winter
Bear cubs are often orphaned because of hunting or environmental conditions such as drought. Last year,
a record 200 orphans, some of them starving, were rescued in Ontario.(Before the 'political' cancellation of the spring bear hunt, the 'Disneyites' insisted it was to prevent orphaned bear cubs that numbered about 27 per year!  Wildlife Biologists predicted the result we are getting today. a minimum of 16,000 additional bears are now roaming Ontario Cottage Country, and their numbers are increasing by a minimum of 4000 every year. These are the bears that would have been harvested in during the spring bear hunt. .. It's amazing no one has been killed 'yet'.. Ontario has no grizzlies, but the general rule is : If a bear is 'brown' lie down, if a bear is 'black' fight back, if a bear is 'white' put your head as far between your knees as you can, then 'kiss your ass goodbye'.. The rule says nothing about what to do if the 'black' bear that's stalking you is actually 'brown' in colour, and there's lots of them out there.)

Chrétien's state of denial is dangerous
This is between the Americans and the terrorists. It's not about us. To believe this requires a huge suspension of disbelief and more than a little ignorance, since it requires discounting the reality that al-Qaeda and their allies have attacked German tourists in Tunisia, plotted to ram jetliners into the Eiffel Tower and the British parliament, conspired to poison entire neighbourhoods in Rome, and tried to plant bombs in Montreal. It also demands that we believe that the Sept. 11 attacks were about poverty, of all things, and not the desperate efforts of demented extremists to destroy a culture and a way of life they cannot abide. The stubborn liberal faith that there are "root causes" of acts that are plainly evil dies hard, if at all.(Chrétien, with his head stuck firmly up his ass, blunders forward ignoring all the evidence around him. Firmly believing the world can be just one big happy place, and nothing is 'really' wrong.. It has to make sane people wonder why anyone would follow this man. Gun Control Works? Spousal homicides up for first time in 6 years
Firearms were involved in 31 per cent of all homicides in 2001, a proportion  consistent with previous years. Of the 171 firearms-related homicides, 110 were committed with a handgun, 46 with a rifle or shotgun, seven with a sawed-off rifle or shotgun, three with a fully automatic firearm, and five with another type of firearm.(Well, let see... 64.3% of all homicides were committed with handguns, and handguns have been registered for well over 60 years, sawed off rifles and shotguns are outright illegal, and 1.75% were killed by fully automatic weapons, that are either illegal, or owned by collectors.. I'll bet that NONE of those weapons were owned by a collector at the time of use! So, the number of people murdered with a legal 'type'(?) rifle, or shotgun is actually only 46 out of a population of 30 Million people or, .00015% .. that's also 0.15 people per 100,000 population killed by the type of firearm the liberals have spent a BILLION dollars to protect us from.. Money well spent? I think NOT)

The entire system is on the verge of proving just how much of a failure it has become. If the country is to have it, then it is time to fix it and make sure it is fair. And if that can't be done, and quickly, it is time to rethink the whole approach which is costing millions of dollars and achieving very little. From the start, it has not been clear that the system will achieve what the government claims it will. Why have it, then, when the end result is endless frustration and aggravation for innocent citizens? (Ahhh do I hear the sound of a 'flushing' toilet?)
Serial numbers missing from 700,000 registered firearms

Vital serial numbers have not been recorded for more than 700,000 firearms registered under the federal
government's Firearms Act, internal documents reveal.  To make up for the missing information, the Canadian
Firearms Centre is mailing the gun owners numbered stickers, or "stickies" as the gun owners call them, to put
on their rifles and shotguns. Critics of the federal gun registry say the lack of serial numbers for at least 728,046 firearms, out of 4.4 million guns registered so far, destroys the integrity of the system, threatens public safety and could make it impossible for police to trace stolen guns or guns used in crime. (The registration of firearms has nothing to do with safety anyway. The CFC admits that Safety is mitigated by licensing, it is not a registration issue. I have a shotgun that is so old and worn, that I can't even make out the serial number. Most old cooeys never had one, and I'll bet there are thousands of winchesters registered with the serial number of 1894, and other old .22's registered as #S,L,LR.. And the waste goes on..)

Something appears to have gone drastically wrong at the national gun registry in July, but it is difficult to find
anyone who will admit it.  No, let me rephrase that: Lots of people inside and outside the registry will admit
something went wrong. Rather, there are conflicting reports over how drastic the foul-up was, and whether it was out of the ordinary. Several gun owners -- scores, if not hundreds or even thousands -- received letters this
summer asking them to re-register firearms they had already registered. One source, a senior Liberal staffer on Parliament Hill, insists this was made necessary by a "huge crash of the processing computers," sometime in early July. He also insists the crash wiped out "thousands" of firearms records entered into the computers around or just after Christmas -- more like tens of thousands. (Sort of makes you think that registering your guns in this 'quagmire' is a waste of time anyway!)

Drop in murder rate called an illusion
Murder rates would be five times higher if it were not for recent medical advances, say researchers who claim national homicide statistics hide how violent society really is. Statistics Canada reported last year the nation's homicide rate of 1.8 per 100,000 people is one of the lowest since the 1960s. In the United States, the homicide rate in 1998 was 25% lower than it was in 1931, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Over the same period, however, the aggravated assault rate increased by 700%. "It is a cat and mouse game. The 'gangbangers' are searching for ever-more lethal weaponry. They are making these guns [for war] but they are selling them to testosterone-poisoned kids in the middle of inner cities. Huge rally defends U.K. fox hunting
LONDON - More than 300,000 people concerned about the needs of Britain's rural communities marched through the streets of London Sunday.  The demonstration was spurred by government plans to ban hunting with dogs in England and Wales. But the marchers are also concerned about a number of issues they say are at the heart of rural life. Polls show most Britons oppose the hunt, however, and Rural Affairs Minister Alun Michael said earlier Sunday that new proposals on hunting would be brought forward within weeks. (Like MOST other countries, MOST of the people live in cities, and have nothing to do with hunting. THIS is why polls favour the banning of any hunt. It's the 'Disney Syndrome' of  stupidly adding human characteristics to animals, and feeding this fairy tale to the even the stupider people, that believe these characteristics to be true)
Millions owed to disabled veterans
TORONTO -- The feds will owe at least $657 million in interest to disabled war veterans and their heirs if it fails to quash a lawsuit before the Supreme Court, a new government report says.  The court found the government failed to pay interest on the pensions, benefits and estates it managed for up to 35,000 veterans deemed "incompetent". The government tried but failed to convince a judge any award for interest should be limited to surviving veterans -- of which there are less than 1,000. Lawyers will return to court Oct. 28 to argue the second part of the lawsuit, which claims the government confiscated millions from the accounts of vets upon their deaths. (Who else but 'this' government, could deliver the final insult to the thousands of men and women that sacificed a 'normal' life for our country! )
Ottawa studies $1,000 Kyoto rebates
Ottawa — Ottawa is eyeing a proposal to offer Canadians rebates of up to $1,000 if they retrofit their homes to make them more energy efficient, federal officials say. Senior officials say Ottawa will sell the plan, which includes more than $5-billion in federal spending over five years, as having "less than a 1-per-cent  impact" on Canada's economy. But that still means it could cost Canada as much as $11-billion based on a $1.1-trillion economy. (Blahh..Blahh..Blahh.. More smoke and mirrors from Ottawa.. 'Vote for us and we'll give you a $1000 to stick foam around the windows in your apartment' Just like the heating oil rebate that went to people that don't even own, or pay for heating equipment.., Just like the 1977 CHiP grants to insulate homes, they paid out all that money, but the record keeping was so poor they have no idea of any effect..  Just like the 4 BILLION wasted by the HRDC on 'other' harebrained schemes.. Anyone who believes ANY financial plans from this Government needs their head examined.. Remember, the Firearms Centre is now (according to their figures) 900 MILLION DOLLARS over budget, and STILL climbing, while offering NO return on the taxpayers dollar.)
Terror suspects spent $100,000 in casino
HAMILTON — Two members of an  alleged Al Qaeda cell arrested in Buffalo last week spent at least $100,000 (U.S.) at Casino Niagara in what Ontario officials suspect were money-laundering  attempts. (Don't these idiots know, that the only people that hit the jackpot, particularly at Niagara, are ALWAYS sitting next to me! At least thats the way it always happens when I'm there!... I think it's a rule!) 
Bring Out Your Dead... And Register their Guns..
Ottawa will have to start looking at tombstones if it wants a dead Edmonton man to register his guns, says the grandson of the deceased.  "It's a joke, a mockery, this whole registration system," Randy Schultz said yesterday. "If they find (my dead grandfather), they're more than welcome to arrest him." Canadian Firearms Centre spokesman David Austin said letters are being sent out to verify  data being moved from the old paper-based restricted firearms registry to the new computerized one. He said the letter was sent to Orser because his family probably never told  authorities about a change.  Not so, Schultz said. After his grandfather died, Schultz said he took the handgun to Edmonton RCMP, who sent the handgun to a Yukon relative. The relative later gave the handgun to an Edmonton-area collector who deactivated the firearm. Again, the RCMP moved the handgun.  Austin said it wasn't incumbent on the police under the old registration system to notify Ottawa about such a change. (I don't think there is a single collector in Canada that has not run into some absurd bit of information on what they currently own, or don't own according to the jumble of misinformation in the federal "dogs dinner" they call a firearms registry. Their biggest problem now, is getting someone to actually take their call at the Firearms NO information Centre @1-800-731-4000, but they ARE sorry.. As a matter of fact, the whole department is a sorry mess..)
Canadian looking for Saddam's bombs
The only Canadian in the United Nations weapons inspection agency says it could take at least 10 months to know for sure whether Iraq possess weapons of mass destruction. "It's a massive, massive project," Ronald Cleminson told the Citizen yesterday in an interview. "But I would say, as I read the time frames, probably within 10 months, if they have full co-operation."(Gee it's too bad that Sadam cannot be treated the same way as a honest Canadian Citizen can be treated under the Liberal's Firearms act. If a Canadian does NOT help the officers brandishing the search warrant, by incriminating themselves and leading them to any firearms they may have, they can languish in prison for years.. This is the law!! Although, it clearly violates the constitution, the Liberals don't care, and 'won't' care until the inevitable defeat in a REAL court of law. )
Tories do election dance around spring bear hunt
Take the case of the minister and the bears which played itself out last week. In search of good news ; to take to the Hunting and Outdoor Show in Toronto, the minister's (or premier's) staff came up with a nuisance bear panel.  Three years ago, in a pre-election moved that stunned the outdoor community, natural resources minister John Snobelen pulled the pin on Ontario's spring bear hunt.  Policy advisors to the premier apparently said that cancelling the spring hunt with no notice, just before the season opened, would be a flash-in-the-pan issue ... a 90 day wonder that would blow over.  Some flash, some pan. It still rankles in the north and'much of rural Ontario. It still galls conaervationists who believe that sound science and sustainable development should rule when it comes to wildlife management. (The reduction of 4000 harvested spring bears every year, has meant a 16,000 bear increase in the last four years. Bears are being seen in areas that have not seen bears for a hundred years. There have been over 40 times as many orphaned or dead cubs confirmed in the last four years than in the previous four, and THIS was the reason the 'Disneyites' wanted the hunt cancelled in the first place. Ontario, a prime example of politics over sound wildlife management policies, and where  'everybody' will loose particularly the bears!)
OLD FAC SYSTEM HAD A BETTER RATE OF FIREARM LICENCE REFUSALS THAN THE NEW BILLION-DOLLAR GUN REGISTRY
(From garrybreitkreuz.com): A letter to a constituent by Justice Minister Anne McLellan dated January 5, 2001 stated: “In addition, since December 1, 2001, public safety authorities have revoked 1,248 valid FACs or firearms licences.  That figure is significant because it is more than 21 times higher than the total for the past five years and is a direct result of the new system’s capacity to link up-to-date public safety information more effectively.  These cases would not have been identified if the new program was not in place.” --- A letter to Ray Hynes of Carbonear, Nfld by Justice Minister Martin Cauchon dated June 7, 2002 stated: “In addition, since the introduction of the Firearms Act, there has been a significant increase in the number of firearms licences revoked by public safety authorities.  This substantive increase is a direct result of the new system’s capacity to link up-to-date public safety information more effectively.  These cases would not have been identified if the new program was not in place.” (Oh yes.. Not only are both ministers using the same 'propaganda type' form letter, they are also both WRONG.  From a .079 refusal rate 1979 - 1999 to a 0.35% in 1999 to 2000, and .038% as of May 4th 2002. In other words, the old FAC system had OVER TWICE the refusal rate of the farce the government is currently shilling..)
RCMP Raid on GroupAction Offices Looking for Evidence in Illegal Contracts and Payouts Given by the Liberal Government
Fraser said the way the contracts were awarded broke "every rule in the book."   She also said Groupaction didn't appear to have done all the work paid for under the contracts. Groupaction has contributed more than $100,000 to the Liberal party.  A Commons committee report on the Groupaction contracts due out this fall could die because of the government's decision to prorogue Parliament and begin a new session. Federal Ethics  Counsellor Howard  Wilson will not seek reappointment after eight years in the job, a spokeswoman in his office confirmed Wednesday morning. If reappointed, Mr. Wilson would have spent another five years as the Prime Minister's Ethics  Counsellor.(And we all know ethics counselling is not a job of any importance within the Liberal Government.)
Manley denies GST hike
OTTAWA (CP) — Finance Minister John Manley says he'd "rather jump off the Peace Tower than raise the GST."(He may have to! The Chrétien plan: Deny the increase, then put it in the next budget.. The Budget will be defeated in a vote, which will be a 'non confidence vote' in the government. This will force the call of an election while Chrétien is still leader of the Liberals. That will effectively eliminate all of his competition until 'after' another election. Remember, this is all about personal power and has nothing to do with the 'good' of the country. As long as the Liberals think they have nothing to fear from any opposition, they will do what ever the hell they like, and YOU will have to just live with it!)
Police seize guns, drugs in crime bust
A 16-month investigation into organized crime in Ontario has netted $10 million  worth of Uzi sub-machine guns, cash and drugs including ecstasy that was intended for rave clubs, York Region police will announce today.The investigation involved police from Toronto, York and Peel as well the  Ontario Provincial Police's organized crime section, the RCMP's proceeds of crime unit and Canada Customs officials.(Do you see 'anywhere' that the Liberal Farce known as the CFC had a hand in this at all? Nope.. They probably couldn't have reached them at the 800 number anyway. It seems as if  NO ONE is home. All Calls to the Toll Free CFC Line are routed to a answering machine telling you they can't take the call, and then a sudden 'disconnect' I have friends that have been trying for weeks, with no sucess. Word also has it that the general feeling at the RCMP, is this whole useless farce will go down in flames shortly.. Keep your fingers crossed. )

Canadian Customs Officers Want To Carry Guns
(CNSNews.com) - The labor union representing Canada's customs officers wants the government to give those officers permission to carry guns. The Customs Excise Union says a recent report of "critical incidents" includes more than 100 "life-threatening" cases where officers have encountered fleeing felons, altercations with gang members, and heavily armed travellers at the border.(There is a WAR on the horizon. Our Customs Officers ARE the first line of defence. THEY SHOULD BE ARMED. The liberal government is just going to have to accept the fact that their criminal coddling policies, as well as a 'let em all in' attitude of immigration, has decreased the level of safety for ALL Canadians. Firearms, and a broader attitude towards self defence are going to become a part of our culture whether 'they' like it or not. The Police can NOT be everywhere at once, and 911 calls, except in the rarest of occasions, NEVER result in the prevention of a crime, and/or injury to the victim. ..)

IRAQ could have a nuclear bomb by Christmas and the power to launch strikes  against Western states, according to new evidence.The Times newspaper said Iraq could be months from producing nuclear weapons with pirated German equipment and uranium smuggled from Brazil.  The claims are made by Dr Khidir Hamza, a former science adviser to the Atomic Energy Establishment in Iraq who helped start its nuclear bomb program before defecting in 1994.  "The beauty of the present system is that the units are each very small and in the four years since the inspectors left they will have been concealed underground or in basements or buildings that outwardly seem normal," Dr Hamza said.  Dr Hamza gave warning that UN inspections would be useless because even if inspectors were given unfettered access they would find it far more difficult than  before to detect the nuclear assembly line. OTTAWA - Dozens of Canadian military planners will be based in Colorado under a controversial proposal to create a joint team with the U.S. to protect North America from global  terrorists and respond to natural disasters. Canadian and U.S. military planners will meet today to finalize details of a strategy that has raised fears in Canada about the loss of sovereignty.(Never before in Canadian history have we required a foreign military to defend and protect us on our own soil. The Liberals have reduced the legacy of the men and women who have died defending this country, to a legacy of  little importance. A government who's leaders have never even come close to military training, a government who's members are embarrassingly ignorant of Canada's past military accomplishments, a government that feels 'self defence' is something you hire others to do for you, a government that has a history of conscientious objectors (cowards), and a government that 'will' leave ALL Canadians Ashamed and Defenceless on their own soil. PETA = Promoting Ecological Terrorism Anywhere
Records show that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, known for its publicity stunts on behalf of animal rights, has given monetary support to the Environmental Liberation Front. Last week, ELF admitted to torching a Forest Service laboratory in Pennsylvania in  August. The blaze caused $700,000 in damage and destroyed 70 years of research. In 1998, the group claimed responsibility for the fire on top of Vail, which cost $12 million in damage. ELF members said they wanted to stop expansion of the resort, which  could further damage the habitat for the endangered lynx.(This dysfunctional group of tofu freaks also has Canadian tax exempt status and uses it to support eco terrorist groups that will stop at little to promote their somewhat twisted ideals. I wonder if they had even considered that the fire at the Resort, could have burned out the endangered lynx habitat! Naw that would have required a few brain cells, and these people are not known for their intelligence. After all, no one has ever equated Tofu with 'Brain Food' and this group is 'smart like potato') 
Rock faces a dilemma: Should he quit cabinet?
Frustrated that he is barred from campaigning for the Liberal leadership while Paul Martin is free to build on his substantial lead, Mr. Rock, the Industry Minister, has the option of quitting cabinet to try to catch up before it is too late.(YES he should quit cabinet! That way the man responsible for the largest waste of money by ANY Cabinet Minister, will be unable to waste any more.  And, seeing that NO ONE in their right mind would elect this clown as 'leader', the general population of Canada will benefit greatly from his absence.)
Navy chief wants more resources
Vice-Adm. Buck's goal is to convince the government to replace the navy's  30-year-old destroyers, get new refuelling and transport ships and make sure that its secondhand submarines are kept up to date over the long term. He said that without new investment, the Canadian navy will no longer collaborate with foreign navies, but rather start depending on them. However, the Chrétien government has given no indication of a major cash boost to the Department of National Defence in the next budget.(Between the 4 Billion wasted at the HRDC, and the current 1 Billion 'and climbing' waste of  the CFC being diverted from the Armed Forces. Canada is well on it's way of  being totally disarmed and internationally defenceless. And we owe it ALL to the Liberal Party of Canada.)

A single masked gunman entered the residence and  allegedly robbed the attendees before discharging his firearm and killing the victim.

The victim was killed early yesterday when two men in a van forced the taxi to stop on Oakdale Rd., just north of Sheppard Ave. W. Both brandished guns and one ran around to the right rear passenger door, opened it and began shooting, the  cabbie said in an interview.

Eighteen-year-old Venoth Neshanatnam  was returning from a basketball game at around 11:30 a.m. when he found a woman, drenched in blood, pleading for help in the lobby of his apartment building on Lawrence Ave. E. near Orton Park Rd.(As you can see, the Firearms Act, is as the Justice Minister says, "Fantastic" (Look up the word in the dictionary) It seems to have prevented the young woman in this last story from being injured 'with a firearm' I sure she appreciates how the law has saved her. The 'next of kin' of the 'Other'  three people in the stories above, should have no trouble at all finding the killers by simply using firearm forensics along with the "Amazing" firearms registry to track down the 'hunters or target shooters' that are responsible for these crimes through their registered handguns. )
