The Tonquin Valley can be accessed from two trailheads located on roads which run off Highway 93A. The north one is at Portal Creek on the Marmot Basin Road (8 kms south of Jasper). The south one is at Cavell Lake on the Mt. Edith Cavell Road (12 kms south of Jasper). The valley runs North-South parallel to, and near, the west boundary of the Park. The trail is only 42 kms. I took 8 days and I loved it. |

Cavell Lake from the bridge at the trailhead. Mt. Edith Cavell is in the background. A very pretty start for a trip. |
