| WOW! Breathtaking Crater Lake. It was really worth the diversion. I'm standing atop a huge snow drift that was melting but still at least 30 feet high. If I'm ever by that way in the summer I'll surely stop in. |

| Leaving Crater Lake I headed south to California for a scheduled meeting at the Golden Gate Bridge with Michelle Kathleen, my second daughter. Of course I had to go through the Redwoods. I didn't know than that I would be running a marathon on The Avenue of Giants the following summer. |
