Yes.  All those specks are people.  There were a lot of them on top of Half Dome.  Still it was a "must do" walk.

Descending the Dome.  It is much more steep than the picture above can convey.   And the closing clouds were a bit intimidating.  Not good to be holding onto a steel cable in a lightning storm. From the bottom a last look at the cables.

The Little Yosemite Valley campground complete with deer.  I didn't have the presence of mind to snap a picture of the bear that came sniffing around at meal time.

Next day I hiked out to Moraine Dome more or less up the creek from the campground.  Very early on the trail came this view of Half Dome.  I could see people through binoculars. Not near as crowded as it had been yesterday.

And so ends Yosemite 1999.
