Dear Class & Friends
2008 has been a tremendously eventful and dramatic year for the world. The year started very joyfully with the victory of Ma Ying-Jeou being elected as Taiwan's President. The Olympic games in Beijing brought the world's spirit together as one for a few exciting weeks, and the unforgettable opening ceremony was a truly awesome surprise.
Closing the year with the Wall Street crash and having Obama elected as the President of United States has such a Hollywood touch to it! Reality is so much more creative and imaginative than script writers.
The current financial crisis really demonstrated to us how inter-connected and inter-dependent all the countries and peoples have become. It's going to be very exciting to see how the world will pull itself out of this mess together. Will we be able to develop the essential wisdom and courage for change from this disastrous lesson?
Those of us who have made our appearance at Facebook have been enjoying a fun year together - commenting on one another's pictures, life events and thoughts. I hope all of you would register and log on to Facebook to join the party. Chip Wolf has posted some old pictures taken between '77 - '79. Even Daniel Lam is very active at Facebook although he has stopped sending in his update. So, we look forward to seeing some of you online.
This year, we have one special guest - Mrs Ruth Anne Zimmerman who has graced our newsletter with an update.
I am sure some of you would never forget how powerfully handsome and stylish "Mrs Z" was in that bright red evening gown with her blonde hair jazzing in the musical notes as she was conducting us. Wish so much we could perform another concert together again! Bon-chi, bon-chi, bon-chi, bon-chi-chi, bon-chi-chi-chi-bon-bon, BON!
Wishing each of you a Year of Contentment!
Best Regards Sherry 26 XII 08
