1. Do not play with a ouija board.  They are not toys and should only be used by people who know how to use them.
2. Never investigate a location alone.  Another person can collaborate activity witnessed and assist in unexpected situations or emergencies.
3. Do not taunt spirits beleived to be in a location.  Though serious injury is unlikely, unexplained actions by unseen forces(some causing injury) have been reported.
4. Know how to use your equipment properly.
5. Clean camera equipment before use.
6. If you see something out of the corner of your eye do not immediately turn your head and look.  Use your peripheral vision to observe it.  Then take a photo in that general direction.  It's thought that when you turn your head to look directly at something your left brain visual center takes over and may cause something it cannot process to disappear.
7.  Do not trespass or get yourself into a dangerous situation.  Use common sense.
8. Be open-minded but scientifically objective.  Just because something is not immediately explainable doesn't mean it's paranormal.
9. When on an investigation program yourself not to run unless faced with a real danger.  You may miss a rare once in a lifetime opportunity to observe phenomena.
10. Control your fear.  Physical danger from a ghost is extremely unlikely.  But there can be injury from carelessness.
11. Tell a friend or family member where you are going and how to reach you in case there's an emergency.
12. Act/dress professionally and review terminology, case facts and scientific methods before embarking on an investigation.
13. Take detailed investigation notes when on formal investigations.  Be sure to note times, environmental conditions, witnesses present and behavior of any anomaly you observe.
