Beginning with the Stones:
.....My 2nd Great Grandfather George Stone (1791-1855) and Lucinda Miller Stone(1794-1862) and their daughters Minerva, Sally, and Elizabeth left Greene County, Pennslyvania in October 1823 and floated down the Ohio River in a flatboat, not much more than a large raft, with all their belongings, a team of horses, a hog, and house equipment. This last is according to a note that Syble Sayre sent me except she just mentions two daughters. Those mentioned above were the oldest, so I assume that these were the two daughters. They landed near Ripley in what is now Jackson County, West Virginia where George eventually became the third sheriff of Jackson County. I do not know if George and Lucinda made the trip by themselves or if they were accompanied by other family members or friends. I am of the belief that perhaps George's brother Elias was with him because Elias made his home in Jackson County until about 1853 when he removed west and settled at Conway, Arkansas.
.....George Stone was the third sheriff of Jackson County and a member of the first County Court. A grandson of George, John Alexander Shinn (1861-1941), was also sheriff of Jackson County and also a member of the County Court. J. A. Shinn is my 1st cousin twice removed. George and Lucinda Stone are buried at the King Cemetery at Ripley which, from the map, appears to be near the exit of I-77 west of Town. J. A. Shinn is buried at the Shinn Cemetery at Fairplain in Jackson County.
.....George's Father was James Stone (1764-1837) who married Barbara Garrison(1764- ) the daughter of Frederick (1733-1813)and Margaret Garrison. All of these were living in Greene County, Pa. George's son John Wesley (1829-1907) was my great grandfather and his son Ruben(1869-1934) was my Grandfather. My mother was Edna Luverna Stone (1910-1973).

.....Having come to Fayette County, Pa. via New Jersey, Alexander Allen Dunham (1788-1864) is another of my 2nd great grandfathers. His wife was Katherin "Kate" Crow (1801-1874) daughter of Michael Crow (about 1766-1864). Alexander's son Jessie (1834-1909) was my great grandfather. He married Sarah Barr (1851-1933) daugher of of John Henry Barr (1831-1891) and Mary Rayburn who died within a few years of Sara's birth. Jessie's daughter Iantha(1878-1963) was my grandmother and my mother's mother.
.....Sara Barr's mother was Mary Rayburn. The Rayburns came through Augusta County, Virginia and settled in Greenbrier/Monroe County, Virgiina. When they came West of the mountains, what is now Monroe County was still part of Greenbrier County and what is now West Virginia was still Virginia.

.....On my father's side, my 2nd great grandfather was John King Sr. who married Christina Yeager. Christina's grandparents were Joseph Yeager (1739-1838) and Katarina Elizabet Becker (1760- ). Joseph was born in Germany in 1738 and he and his wife are buried in Jacobs Luthern Cemetery at Masontown, PA. John Senior's son Alexander is my great grand father. He married Elizabeth Jacobs. John Sr, Christina, Alelxander, and Elizabeth are buried at Smith Church in Mason County, WV. Alexander's son William Alexander (1867-1949) is my grandfather. "Willy" married Ella Florence King (1867-1936). They are buried at (Ephraim) King Family Cemetery.
......Ella Florence King's Mother and father were Ephraim King (1840-1915) and Susan Hughes. Ephraim was the son of William H. King (1815-1881) and Lydia Rhodes. The first King of my Grandmother Ella Florence's line to come to America was Francis King who came to Northumberland County, Virginia as an indentured servant probably sometime in the 1600s.
.....My father was Okey L. King Sr.(1899-1963). He and Edna Luverna Stone were married in 1927 at Winfield, WV and lived at Dunbar for 32 years before moving to Caldwell in Greenbrier County. I hope to be able to include much more fmily history as I progress with this page.
