~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IT IS NOT WHAT ACTUALLY 'HAPPENS TO US, BUT HOW WE CHOOSE'  TO REACT TO 'IT' OR THINK AND 'PERCIEVE' IT THAT CREATES THE  FEELINGS THAT WE HAVE ABOUT THAT SITUATION. ONCE WE REALIZE WE HAVE A CHOICE  AND THE  POWER TO 'DECIDE 'HOWTO 'THINK' OR 'PERCIEVE ' A SITUATION, WE  WILL GAIN  INNER STRENGTH, AND POWER WHICH  COULD  LEAD TO  SELF WORTH, UNDERSTANDING AND SELF ACCEPTANCE . REMEMBER BACK WHEN YOU   WE WERE   CHILDREN-  OUR   THOUGHTS      AND FEELINGS                                   ABOUT LIFE                                                            WERE  OUR  OWN.  AS                                        ADULTS, WE    SOMETIMES                                     CHANGE OUR   'TRUE' SELF,                                 AND FORM                                           OUR THINKING AND PERSONALITY  ON EXTERNAL FACTORS.  THE DEMANDS OF ADULT RESPONSIBILITY  WITH IT'S    'FIRST TIME' SITUATONS WE MUST CONFRONT. ie?; COLLEGE, NEW JOB, RELATIONSHIPS, FAMILY, MARRIAGE,, ETC.... ARE EXPERIENCES WHICH  GIVE US STRESSES THAT WE HAVE NEVER 'LEARNED HOW TO DEAL WITH . HOW COULD WE?  WE ONLY HAVE WHAT WAS TAUGHT TO US AS CHILDREN,  AND EXPERIENCES WE HAD THEN TO GUIDE US. .. MIND YOU, MANY CHILDREN GO THROUGH TREMENDOUS ORDEALS WHICH FORCE THEM TO CONFRONT  EXTREME STRESS.  THEY MAY LEARN COPING TECHNIQUES OR NOT. ONCE AN ADULT,THEY  MAY  CARRY THESE MEMORIES AND  THOUGHTS' WITH  THEM  INTO ADULTHOOD,  WHICH MAKES IT EVEN MORE DIFFICULT. OUR 'TRUE' SELVES' TENDS TO GET LOST IN THE SHUFFLE AND ADJUSTMENT TO ADULTHOOD. WE NEED TO FIND THAT PERSON ONCE AGAIN,  AND NOT 'THINK' "OH I WAS JUST A KID AND THAT THINKING IS NO LONGER RELEVANT. INSTEAD, THINK "WHAT WAS I LIKE? HOW DID 'I' FEEL ABOUT THINGS, THAT WOULD AND SHOULD STILL PLAY AN IMPORTANT PART OF 'ME' TODAY"?  WE SOMETIMES LET OTHERS 'MOLD' US BECAUSE OF PEERS, TV, MEDIA, ETC..ALL THE 'THINGS' THEY SHOW AS THE IDEAL LIFE, LOOK, ETC.... THINK ABOUT THEM- AND THE FEARFULL THOUGHTS THAT CAME AS WELL- THEN 'SAY' TO OURSELVES,, WHAT  AM I HOLDING ON TO THAT IS TOTALLY IRRELEVANT NOW?  WHAT HAVE I HELD THAT IS MEANINGLESS YET CONTINUES  TO BE A  PART IN HOW I FEEL NOW?  ONCE LOOKED AT RATONALLY, YOU MAY ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO LAUGH AT THEM, AND LET THOSE FEARS GO.  ONCE YOU 'SEE' THEM FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE, THEN THE 'GOOD' AND POSITIVE  THOUGHTS YOU HAD, YOU HOLD ON TO, AND LET THEM PLAY A POSITIVE ROLE  IN YOUR  LIFE . (EXAMPLE: "THOSE  KIDS ,  OR THAT SUBJECT,, OR MY PARENTS  ETC.., WHAT ARE THEY DOING  IN MY MIND NOW? THEY  NO LONGER HAVE  ANY REASON OR 'RIGHT' TO EVEN BE A PART OF ME NOW AS AN ADULT.  LOOK INTO THAT PAST, SEE  IT RATIONALLY AND PUT IT IN IT'S PROPER PROSPECTIVE- IN THE TRASH!!!!!! Realize you can  look objectively at life starting now, and find your 'true' self, with that- strength  and control will be yours, and you will be 'free'-the person you were meant to be.  'Think about it.                            priorities/lee
