Simply Sandi's Rose
We are going to make a flower similar to the one above.  Download the zip with selections by clicking on the above rose graphic  and save them to folder of your choice. I have provided a couple leaf tubes I have made  if you would like to use them.  Just click on the leaf links above.   Don't forget to save often, there are lots of selections.  If you find you are crashing too much you might need to empty your clipboard &/or history once in awhile.  Before doing so you might want to re-save renaming so you don't lose the ability to go back and change things if you decide you want to later.
Open a new image, transparent.  300 x 300.  Add a layer, just because.
The selections are in order, after completing them all, you are at liberty to move them around if you think they need to be in different order.
To simplify this tutorial, we will just do all the petals the same to begin with, then we can go back and work on individual petals if we want to since we are going to put them all on their own layer.
1.  Load the first selection, flood with your color of choice, go to Eyecandy3, innerbevel,
bevel width 65, button, smoothness 10, depth 0, brighness 12, sharpness 100.
direction 68, inclination 76 ( or your choice), click OK.
2.    Effects, noise 25%, gaussien blur (your choice, I used 1 most of the time).  Click OK.
3.  Selections, invert, effects, drop shadow, pick a darker shade of the color you picked, or use black.  V & H both  -1 (or chose your own) opacity 100, blur around 32 for larger petals, around 15 for smaller ones (or you choose).  OK
You can either work on this petal and do more shading or I did all my petals each on its own layer, then I went back and did my shading.
4.  For more realism, use the smudge, push, rgb lighten, rgb darken, line tool, I tried deformation on some petals pulling them out a little.  You could also experimenting with artists effects if you like.
5.  When you have completed your shading, close the 1st layer making sure one of the others is the active layer and merge visible.   Go to effects, sharpen, sharpen more.  This will put sharp edges on your rose and it will pop out at you looking more like a rose.
6.  Now if you like and have downloaded my leaves, you can place leaves on the 1st layer.  If you are going to want your background something other than white, make the 1st layer active, add a layer and put your leaves on this new layer, then you can flood the first layer with your color of choice.

My tutorials are just a guideline, experiment with features of psp and make them your own creations.

I hope you have found this tutorial easy to understand and have enjoyed working it.  I am always overjoyed to see everyones creations should you care to send it to me to see.
If a group chooses to use my tutorials, and you put member results on a page, I would be happy to receive the URL to the page so I might see every ones results, but it is not mandatory.
As usual, this tutorial is to be used as you see fit.  I write these to share what I have learned and feel very honored when anyone chooses to do my tutorials.
