Religion of Self
For the benefit of those who don't know what makes me tick, I will now fill out an email questionnaire. Have mercy.
What is your name?
Snookie to friends, Grant to my mum
Birthday: 22 July 1983.
Get me a harmonica this year.
Shoe size: 10? 11? I dunno, whatever one fits.
What colour knickers or pants are you wearing right now? Black
trousers, how tough of me. Communist underpants for those
interested.
What makes you special? A devilish mixture of cynicism and
optimism.
What are you listening to right now? PJ Harvey - "The Whores
Hustle And The Hustlers Whore". Although I should really lie
and say I'm listening to something like The Velvet Underground or
The Stone Roses so I seem hip.
If you were a crayon, what colour would you be? Purple. When I
went to primary school, they were always the rarest when it was
picture time. Although splitzoid crayons were even rarer, mainly
because they didn't and
don't exist.
Where do you plan to go on your honeymoon? Jamiaca is where I
want to go, but it's no major deal to me. After all, Jamaica will
still be there after the divorce...
If u were a chocolate bar you would be? Not a bar, but I'd be an
M&M. They have great personality.
I wish I looked like: Tyler Durden (Fight Club). Someone told me
the other day that I did look like him, but then my
"friend" interrupted with "Nah, Tyler's
sexy!". Thank you very much:(.
Favourite place you've been to? My travel log isn't very long,
but I always enjoy myself in Dunedin (NZ's answer to Scotland).
Sunrise or sunset? Sunset. More colours, and it usually means
night's not far away.
Last person you phoned and their relation to you? Haven't used
the phone in a while...redundant technology, I prefer telelpathy.
Ryan, good friend of mine and head of The Christchurch Faction
Towards The Return Of Communism.
Favourite smell? That smell I can't describe...my friend smells
that way and it drives me nuts.
Cats or dogs? Dogs. You know where you are with a dog. It's
LOVELOVELOVELOVE...or you're out on your arse.
Three things you first notice about the opposite sex? First of
all, the face. Then, once we've been talking a bit, their mouth;
some people have very sensual and alluring mouths. Then, after
I've known them a bit, I
notice their eyes, I mean REALLY notice them. That's how you can
tell if a person is right for you or not; just look in their
eyes.
Whats the best thing about your crush? That she has no name and
no face and no body but possibly a soul which is all that
matters.
who do u fancy( u have to say someone!) "Fancy"? You
sound like my mum when you talk like that, and I don't tell her
my secrets.
Do you have a love or hate relationship with Marmite? Marmite is
this sloppy black stuff we put on toast in NZ, and possibly
Australia. But Vegemite is better, don't let anyone tell you
otherwise. Very famous in NZ
for a while with the memorable "We're happy little
Vegemites" ad campaign (I'm not making that up).
The first thing you thought of this morning? "Shit, time to
wake up."
What do you see when you look in the mirror? My reflection. *BOOM
BOOM TISH*
How are you today? Tired. Spend four hours in a van driving
through mountains and you'll know the feeling. Beautiful scenery
though.
What are you most looking forward to? Um...the end of the year,
when I can showcase my films to the viewing public:).
What did you dream about last night? I never remember my dreams,
and if I did, they wouldn't involve a fat Chevy Chase. How much
do I suck?:( Although I did once dream that I met PJ Harvey in
her hotel, and she signed my CD:).
I was very disappointed after I woke up.
You're favourite drink? Can't go wrong with a cup of tea. The
entire British Revolution was built on cups of tea. If you think
I'm going to war without one, you're very much mistaken.
("Lock, Stock And Two Smoking
Barrels" quote. It IS true though.)
You're favourite alcoholic drink? Communist vodka. Or, if none is
available, absinthe, the devil's drink.
What was your last alcoholic drink? Ice Breaker. Tasted like
lemonade. And you thought your answer was gay...
Favourite TV Shows: The Simpsons, Futurama, Black Books, Family
Guy, King Of The Hill (only one non-cartoon, what does that say
about me?)
Your favourite items of clothing: TOOL T-Shirt. In fact, I'm
wearing it right now. With my tough black pants and my Communist
underwear.
Last thing you bought: A Footlong Chicken Subway, with cheddar
cheese, bacon, onion, green pepper and BBQ sauce.
Last CD bought?: "Undertow" by TOOL and
"Opiate" also by TOOL (both at same time)
What's the next CD you're going to get? Um...well, I'm getting
the new Eminem for my brother's birthday present, but for myself?
Maybe some Tom Waits...or "Blonde on Blonde" by Bob
Dylan...no wait, I was gunna get "Dark Side Of The
Moon"...or
What makes you angry? Dishonesty and stupidity. I don't mean to
plaigarize, but I agree totally and I couldn't be bothered
getting out my thesaurus and looking up two alternative words.
I'm being honest, so don't
get angry!:P
Favourite Song? Shit, don't ask me that question. Here's my
current list:
Every self-titled song
off a TOOL album, "Dry The Rain" by The Beta Band,
"Oh! Sweet Nuthin'" by The Velvet Underground,
"Inside Game" by Royal Trux and that song they sing on
"O Brother, Where Art Thou?". That's all I can think of
right now. Ask me tomorrow, get a completely different answer.
Eye Colour : Grey-blue.
3 things you couldn't live without : MUSIC, Sleep,
and...companions. OK, I ripped you off again, but it's true!
Although there's only really a handful of individuals I couldn't
live without.
3 things you could live without : Fundamental Christains, this
stomach pain I have right now (probably a dodgy taco somewhere
along the line) and my appendix. Well I could!
Favourite film(s)? Couldn't name a favourite, but "O
Brother, Where Art Thou?" was the last really good film I
saw. "Fight Club" and "High Fidelity" are
high on that list too.
Do you wear contacts? No. I reckon I'd look quite dashing in
glasses. Also, I think it should be compulsory for bald (whether
by choice or by nature) men (or women, actually) to wear glasses
of some kind. Otherwise
their heads look too boring.
Siblings and their ages? Um, five brothers at the last count; 13,
13 (no, not twins), 9, and 7. OK, only four brothers. It was a
rough estimate. One sister, aged 8.
Favourite month? December. It's almost time for Christmas, and
you know what that means? Wizard Of Oz! Still listening to PJ
Harvey...
I really wish......: That I had an infinite bank account. Money
is the root of all evil, but modern living is evil in itself, so
I need that to survive.
Most used word in your vocabulary: "ALRIGHT!" (the new
"Wazzup!")
Favourite word(s): .com. vichyssoise is a very cool word, what
does it mean? Derf, me smarat. Still got PJ pumping on my
stereo...
If I was a kitchen utensil I'd be: A sprout-masher
When was the last time you cried: I don't remember either. Oh
wait, a tear ran down my eye at the end of "High
Fidelity" last time I watched it, but I'm fucked if I know
why. It's not a sad ending.
Most recent thing that made you laugh: The last thing that really
made me lose myself was last week's Black Books.
"I've got Dave syndrome!"
"Is that like you other syndrome? What was it? You had to
eat fudge
because-"
"Fudge stops me from going deaf!"
and
"Now shut up and get my lolly!" He then goes to the
fridge and gets a bottle of Barcadi frozen with a stick in it.
The laugh heard around the world.
Have you ever fancied one of your friends? Yep. I dated her too.
It went sour but we're still friends. Even though I'm single and
she's not:(.
One thing about your personality you'd like to change: I WISH I
WASN'T SO DAMN NEUROTIC ALL THE BLEEDING TIME. And I want to be
less selfish (do you get the joke in that statement?:P). Still
listening to PJ...
One thing about your physical appearence you would change: My
feet. They really let my legs down in the looks department. So
much so that I'm afraid to go barefoot unless at home.
Who is your hero? Uncle Jesse from Full House. He had a recording
studio in the basement!
Favourite TV advert: The Burger King one with the chickens
(sorry, had to wind you up a bit). My all-time favourite ad is
one that never got aired; an ad for Ikea shelves that involved a
toddler playing with a vibrator, and the caption "Tidy
up". I can send it to you ask extra nicely.
Last film seen at the cinema: "Colateral Damage".
Otherwise known as "MacGuyver: the Movie". Arnie didn't
even shoot anyone! Give me "Commando" anyday.
Favourite day of the year? St. Patrick's Day.
Favourite actor and actress: Brad Pitt, Ed Norton, Helena Bonham
Carter, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman (she was
great in "The Professional"), John Cusack, Benicio Del
Toro, George Clooney, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Harvey Keital,
Jean Reno-should I stop? Still listening to PJ.
Burger King or
McDonalds: Beauger King. They use actual meat, and FREE REFILLS!
Most annoying TV actor or actress: Courtney Cox-Arquette. Just
bank your money now and go the fuck away. Please.
Out shopping and have £5 left What do you spend it on? I change
it to NZ dollars, which gives me around $15 cuz of the exchange
rate, and I buy a cheap CD (and some cheap tapes, eh bro?) at The
CD Store. I wouldn't buy nail polish; because of a neurotic nail
biting habit, I have none to paint:(.
Do you like scary or happy movies better? Scary-happy, like
"Cannibal: the Musical". That was hilarious.
Summer or winter? Whatever season it isn't right now. Winter:
"I could get more work done if it wasn't so bloody
cold!" Summer: "I could get some more work done if it
wasn't so bloody hot!" Spring: "I could get more work
done if it wasn't so bloody moderate!". Listening to Thom
Yorke...doing a duet with PJ.
Hugs or Kisses? Hugs. They feel nicer, can last longer, are
easier to perfect, and sometimes lead to kisses...
Chocolate ice cream or vanilla? Chocolate. C'mon, ask me a hard
one.
Shower or bath? Not that hard. Shower for warmth and cleanliness,
but bubble bath for relaxation. I'm too big for our bathtub
though, so that point is somewhat moot.
Coffee or tea? See the favourite drink question. TEA!
Are you a morning or night person? I'm a 6:38 person actually.
How honestly have you answered these questions? Well, I AM still
listening to PJ...
