Clothing and Jewellery
In ancient Sumer, both rich and poor Sumerians wore the same style of clothing. However, the wealthy wore more expensive and luxurious materials. Princesses and wealthier women wore clothing that was colourful and bright.

Puabi's Headdress
Cloth was made from natural materials such as wool and flax, which the Sumerians raised and harvested.
Sumerian men were either clean-shaven or long haired and bearded. Women would braid their long hair and wrap it around their heads, wearing headdresses when entertaining guests.
Earrings and necklaces were worn by both men and women. More affluent Sumerians wore stunning gold and silver earrings and bracelets. Even more jewellery was worn during celebrations.
