Big Brother 2: Las Vegas Episode #1

THE BEGINNING

Following the success of Big Brother San Francisco there were plenty of people wanting to play in the sequel. The interview process was extensive and time consuming but eventually a new cast was in place. The game was set to begin!

The location had not been disclosed to the new cast. They were told to simply show up at the studio in the morning, packed and ready to travel. The guests were shocked to see three army-type helicopters waiting in the parking lot! The game was NOT going to be in California. Their gear was hauled into the choppers and the group was divided into three groups of four. They jumped into their assigned seats and off they flew. It was a beautiful trip, but extremely long. It gave the houseguests a chance to get to know one another before they arrived at the house. People were bonding already, some people were clashing already. After a while they saw nothing but desert....they were in Nevada! In the distance a secluded house slowly came into view. They were seeing what would be their home for the game.

The helicopters touched down and the excited passengers disembarked, ready for the game! They went straight for the front doors, but they were locked. A limousine pulled up to the door. The houseguests were stunned as their host, Josh, got out of the limo. He addressed the group.
"Welcome to the Big Brother 2 LAS VEGAS house! You will all be playing to be the last person in that house, but NOW you are going to play to be the first one IN the house. The challenges are starting immediately."

THE CHALLENGES

The houseguests looked at one another, sizing each other up. They were going to have to compete against the people they had just met. Josh went on to explain the first Reward Challenge.
"There are 12 small chalkboards and chalk on the lawn over there, please go get one each. Now that you all have one the game begins. The challenge is called "Know the Game to Win the Game". However, there is a twist! The "game" the title refers to is NOT the CBS Big Brother games, but Big Brother: San Francisco! I will ask you a question about the first game in this series and you will write your answer on the chalk board. You have only three seconds to answer. When I say 'answer' hold up your chalkboard. If you answer correctly you get a point. The first person to three points wins the reward."
The new houseguests were quite disturbed by this twist. Some of them had been brushing up on their BB trivia in preparation for the challenge, now they find out they were studying the wrong game!
The game began and it was soon apparent which of the new houseguests had kept up with the OLD houseguests. Matt was the first to two points, quickly caught by Joshua. Jeremy and Diana each answered one correctly before Joshua got his third point. Joshua had won the first Reward challenge!
Josh congratulated him and explained what he had won.
"The beds are all set up for the houseguests, but one bed leads to the Head of Household position. Joshua, you will be the first to choose a bed and get the first shot at HoH. "
The host moved to the door and took a key out of his pocket. He unlocked the front doors and continued to explain the first HoH challenge.
"There is a list of beds on the table in the livingroom. One of the beds is hiding the HoH room key. There are clues in the listings as to which bed is holding the key. Joshua you will go into the livingroom and read the list. Once you have decided which bed you believe is hiding the HoH Room key you go and find that bed and claim it as your own. When you have your bed you will shout out a number from one to eleven. The other guests have been randomly assigned a number, the houseguest with the number that you shout out will choose second. The process will continue like this until everyone has a bed. I will then ask you to all search your beds for the HoH Room key. The person who finds the key will be declared the Head of Household. Are you ready Joshua? GO!"
The process was slow and everyone was anxious to know if they had picked the right bed. The clues were well hidden. When everyone had their beds picked out Josh told them to start searching. Bedding and pillows went flying everywhere! It didn't take long for Diana to find the HoH Room key in the sheets of her bed. She had won the all important Head of Household competition! With so many new people how could she decide who to nominate?

NOMINATIONS/EVICTION

It was finally time to get to know everyone. It was easy to see that even this early on in the game everyone had their favorites in the house. Everyone was sizing the others up. Initial impressions were forming, some were not favorable. Diana had her work cut out for her. She had to put two of these new friends up for eviction. She would be directly responsible for one of these people leaving the game. She was looking for anything she could use as criteria for nomination. Some of her fellow houseguests were trying to influence her descision, telling her who they thought should be the nominees, but Diana is a strong woman and decided to go with who she thought should be nominated.
It came time to take everyone's keys off the wall and the Safe Box to the HoH Room. With confidence she place the keys belonging to the nine safe houseguests into the box and placed the nominee's keys into the black velvet bag. She went to the living room and called everyone in. This was the first nomination ceremony and everyone was nervous. Diana started the "key pulling" process with a small speech to the others.
"Ciao Houseguests! Well after sleeping in my comfy HOH bed I have decided who I am going to nominate. Although I have switched back and forth MANY times, I am pretty confident about my choices now. All of you are great people but I had to make a decision so please don't be offended or hurt! This is a hard position to be in so please try to understand! Good luck you guys and remember it's only a game... "
When all the keys had been removed it was Justin and Tiffany who were without their keys. Diana addressed both of them.

"Tiffany, I have decided to nominate you because you really haven't been active and I havent ever met you yet. I'm sure you are busy but you haven't made any attempts to really get into the game. I could be very wrong but what I've heard is that half of these people haven't talked to you yet. This was a hard decision for me to make before getting to know you but I felt this was only fair. Sorry girl!"

"Justin, where are you boy!! I know your computer broke down but you have missed a lot of stuff and we need players who can play. I didn't want to do this because its not fair to you but this is what i gotta do."

The eviction was now in the hands of the houseguests! Justin and Tiffany had both been distant and had not made as much of an effort to get to know everyone. Tiffany apologized for not being around as much as she would have liked. She hoped that the others would understand.
The eviction vote came all to soon for everyone. The houseguests gathered in the living room. The big screen television popped on and to the guest's surprise the person on the TV was not their host Josh, but the co-host, Melinda.
"Hello everyone and welcome to the first BBLV eviction. One at a time I will be calling you into the Confessional Room. Please look directly into the camera and vote for either Justin or Tiffany to be evicted. Please also give a reason for your vote. Leo, you are up first."
One by one the houseguests gave their votes. Justin's lack of communication (caused by computer problems) proved to be his downfall. By a vote of nine to zero, Justin was the first person evicted from the Big Brother: Las Vegas house!
Now that the one person who did not communicate has been evicted will the next vote be as easy for everyone?
