Big Brother 2: Las Vegas Episode #4

THE BEGINNING:

Another strong female player had been voted out of the game. Kimberley was gone from the house and no one was more surprised than she was. Leo had saved Grace from nomination with his "power of veto", this was surprising to most. What was even more surprising was the person he suggested should take her place. Ian decided to go with his own choice, not who Leo suggested. Had an alliance been uncovered? The house became divided. Those who thought that they were vulnerable to the newly uncovered semi-alliance started to organize against them. The question now was who would get the advantage by winning the Reward and HoH challenges?

THE CHALLENGE

The houseguests awaited the next challenge. There was a lot of tension in the house but everyone tried to make conversations as pleasant as possible. Finally the guests were told to gather in the Girl's Room while the house was being set up for the challenge.
After a while they were instructed to go out into the yard. The yard had been set up like the set of "The Weakest Link". There were podiums set up in a semi-circle all facing a big screen TV. They went to the podium that had their names on it and the TV screen popped on. It was Josh dressed in a long, black leather coat.
"It's time to play.......The Weakest Link! You will each get two questions per round. After the round is complete you will get to vote for who you think is the weakest link. If you are voted the weakest link you are out of the game and must go back into the house. Once we are down to the final two players there will be 5 questions each. The one to answer the most correctly will be the winner and the new Head of Household. The Reward Challenge, called "Silver Smarts", will follow. Let's begin!"
The first round went very slow and few questions were answered correctly. When the voting started it was clear that it didn't really matter how you were answering, this was coming down to alliances. Leo was the first one voted out of the game. He was followed by Jeremy and Grace, even though Grace was doing quite well with her questions.
One by one the others were eliminated until the last two at their podiums were Elizabeth and Joshua. The five question face off went to Joshua. He was crowned the new Head of Household.
The houseguest had been told that the Reward Challenge would immediately follow the HoH challenge. When they were all called back to the yard they all assumed that was the reason. Instead they were in for a surprise.
Josh appeared on the TV screen to address them.
"Congratulations Joshua! You are HoH. I suppose you were wondering about the Reward Challenge. Well. you just played it. The name of the challenge was "Silver Smarts". So the reward goes to the person who answered the most questions correctly in the Weakest Link challenge. That was Grace. Now for her reward. Grace, you are ALSO Head of Household! You will both get to nominate one person for the upcoming eviction. Thanks everyone. Good bye"
The screen clicked off and the houseguests were left dumb-founded. So much for gaining the advantage by winning the Head of Household position.....the co-winners were in different alliances!

NOMINATIONS/EVICTION

When it came time for the two Head of Households to make their choice for nomination they both went into the HoH Room with the Safe Box and the keys belonging to the remaining houseguests. Joshua went first. He picked up the key of the person he was nominating and placed it in the black velvet bag. Grace took the key belonging to her nominee and place it in the bag as well. Together they put the rest of the keys into the box. They brought the box into the living room and called everyone into the room.
Joshua started the ceremony with a speech to the others.

"hey guys, this is a real difficult situation i am in now....I think that this is the hardest time to have HOH now that is down to a core group.I think that after a HOH challenge like we had it is VERY difficult for me to do nominations since there are people that question my loyalty out there. For those of u that feel i am not trustworthy I am truly sorry u feel that way and i hope we take this for what it is "a game" and only that...Actions that are played out within the context of the game have nothing to do with how people act in real life. I could have never realized how emotionally attached one can get with this type of online game and i think that is exactly what happened in Big Brother Las VEgas. During the challehge today there were many times i felt like crying but I had to do what I had to do....I feel as if I have made 11 new friends that i will chat with all the time and i hope that you guys feel the same for me. If u can leave this game with hard feelings and not talk to others from the game because of it I don't think we were ever truly good friends in the first place. With that said i will pull out the first key..."

There were only five keys in the box so the process went quickly. In the end there were no surprises and Leo and Ian were the two people without their keys. They were the nominees for eviction.
Joshua addressed his nominee, Leo.

"I have chosen to nominate Leo......Leo I hope there is no hard feelings, someone needed to be picked and i feel that from what ihave gathered from u, u simply don't trust me anymore if u ever did in the first place. I really enjoy talking to you and i have enjoyed listening to all the times u sang like a madman in our chats. But, i feel that if someone does not trust me then i guess there is something wrong..It is just a "game" but moving on....I am sorry again...it seems like i have been saying that alot to you lately...But that is my pick."

Grace addressed her nominee, Ian

"Ian-- i nominate you because like you said when you nominated me we just dont click....i dont know why that is but we dont....and everything i say you take the wrong way, i think thats all there really is to say so im sorry but i decided to nominate you!"

There would only be five people voting in this round because the two HoHs and the two nominees don't vote. The nominee's fates were in the hands of Tiffany, Elizabeth, Diana, Matt and Jeremy. They had a lot of thinking to do.
It came time to vote. Ian and Leo sat in the arm chairs at the end of the room. Leo made a plea to the others, asking them not to vote him out but Ian had nothing prepared to say. In the end it didn't matter anyway, the others had already made up their minds. After the voting Josh appeared on the screen with the announcement.

"I'm sorry to say that this was not even a close vote. All but one person voted to evict Leo. Leo please say your good byes and gather your things. It's time for you to leave the house."

Just like in Big Brother: San Francisco, alliances have been hurtful instead of helpful. Can the others come together and work as a whole group again, or will they remain divided?
