I am so glad that you decided to come in to meet me and my family. If you have a moment, I would like to share some things with you about me and my life.
My Name is Deborah and I live in beautiful Spring Hill, Florida. Spring Hill is about 50 miles north of Tampa. I have been married for the last 33 years to Roger, my life and soul mate. We have one child, a son named Christopher who is 22 years old. I also share our lovely home with "Snoopy" our Jack Russell Terrier, Doogie, our mixed breed dog, and Sweepea, out cockatiel. Our home is nestled on a one acre tract filled with oak and pine trees. We have tried to keep it in it's natural state to promote the wildlife that visit us. Daily we can see the rabbits that come to visit to eat my flowers in my many gardens. I don't mind at all, I just plant a few more, enough or all God's creatures, be it animal or human. We have seen bobcat and red foxes come to visit. Sand hill cranes and beautiful eagles gliding magesticaly through the sky above. In the spring, around Easter, you can hear the whipperwills singing their special mating songs.
I spent the first 15 years of my life in Hamburg, NY. A really special place to grow up. Just one block off of Lake Erie, I have many wonderful memories of friends gathering on the beach in the summer to swim and just be lazy, and in the winter of ice fishing and skating on the lake.
We moved to Florida when I was 15 and that is when I met Roger. I just knew that he was the one for me. We married in 1968, 5 years after we met. We bought a house and settled in St Petersburg, Fl and lived there until 1973. We then moved to Denver, Colorado where we lived until 1980. This is where Chris was born. Since all of our relatives were back in Florida, we moved back to Clearwater so that Chris could grow up knowing his grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins. We were sad to leave Denver as we left behind many wonderful friends.
In 1990 we moved to Spring Hill. We were yearning for a place less congested than Clearwater. It is a lovely beach town but grew very quickly. We miss the gorgeous beaches but we are only 45 minutes away and visit often.
I have been a banker for 26 years and just recently have taken a leave to persue other fields of employment. Roger owns his own car rental business in Clearwater. Yes, he drive 100 miles round trip 6 days a week, but he does not mind because he knows when he gets home, he will be on God's little acre and will be able to enjoy the peaceful serenity that we have here.
Our son Chris was married to his lovely bride, Tina on July 17, 1999. I finally got my daughter!! This picture of Roger, Tina and me was taken on that blessed day.
This picture of Tina and Chris was taken on their honeymoon. Oh, did I mention that she lived right next door? Yep, he married the "girl next door". They are so blessed that they have been friends for 8 years before they married. Our cup runneth over with happiness for this wedded union.
Now I want to tell you some of the things in my life that make me happy. I am a very, very, optimistic person, always seeing the sunshine and rainbows of life. I love tending my gardens all year long. Going boating on the Gulf of Mexico with friends. Traveling to places I have never seen. Meeting new internet friends through my ladies groups. Having a relationship with my saviour, Jesus Christ. There are things that make me unhappy, but I try not to dwell on these. I find it to be counter productive to a happy and fulfilled life.*s* Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. I hope that someday I will get to know you too.
Adoption is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts, as our son Chris was adopted by us on December 21,1978 when he was one month old. What a wonderful Christmas that was!! Our lives have been so enriched by having him as our son.
