Welcome to my Christmas page. Oh, my, how I love Christmas!! My heritage is Polish and with that comes many lovely traditions. Traditions that I have passed down to my son Christopher. Please have a seat by the fire and warm yourself and I will tell you some of my favorite memories from Christmas' past.
My sweetest memories of Christmas come from my mother's kitchen. I come from a long line of terrific bakers. Oh my, I can still smell the comforting aromas of her Sonja Heine cookies. She had to make extra because lots of them never made it off the cooling rack to the pretty cookie tins.*g* Kiefle cookies are a melt in your mouth treat that said "Christmas" when they were baked. Rum balls for the adults and jelly rolls, yummmmmm!!!! Now a days the day after Thanksgiving is my baking day. I get up early, turn on the Christmas music and start baking. I love it so much.

When I was little, We celebrated Christmas on Christmas morning. Boy it sure was hard to get to sleep on Christmas Eve. We awoke early and opened our presents and went to Christmas Mass at our little Catholic church. The services were so beautiful, with Baby Jesus laying in his cradle up on the alter. Then we went back home where Mom started our wonderful Christmas dinner. I almost always got new pristine white ice skates. Oh how I prayed for a white Christmas so we could go ice skating and sledding. Mom always set a lovely table for the holiday, our best crystal and candles on the table. Relatives all around the table and many cousins to play with. The true meaning of Christmas. Love of family. Roger and I have carried on this tradition in our family. Our home for the last 22 years, has been the gathering place for family and friends. I am looking forward to when Christopher and his bride, Tina have their own family and can carry on the tradition. I will miss it, but I know Chris and Tina will enjoy carrying the traditions on with their children.

On this most special day I am thankful for many things in my life, but I am most thankful for the birth of my Saviour, Jesus Christ. He surely is the only "Reason for the Season". It is the most precious gift I have ever been given on Christmas Day. Roger and I hope that your day is filled with love and laughter, family and friends. May you share in God's blessings all year long.
