Friend. It is probably one of the most beautiful words I know of. The first time I ever heard Nannie call me her friend, I knew that I was being blessed by true friendship. I met Nannie when she and her husband Anthony came into the bank I worked at to open a new account. The three of us hit it off right away. I normally do not make friends with my customers, never had and have not since. But there was something about Nannie that drew me to her like a sister. She and Anthony were considering a new computer purchase and needed help learning how to use it. I offered to come over to their house to teach them what I knew, which was not that much. *g* From than on, we became fast friends. Whenever we got together, we would laugh so much, till the tears ran. What beautiful times we had. Then last June, 2000, her beloved Anthony passed away and she was all alone here in Spring Hill. Her family came right away and a few weeks later, took her home to New York. My heart was broken and I vowed to visit her in the fall. So that October, I did fly up to New York to see her. It was like we had never been apart. I have also visited her this past September. We speak almost daily through MSN or regular e-mail.
I can't imagine my life with out my friend, Nannie. She is always there to offer support, lend a hand, calm my fears, and offer a wise word of advice whether I want it or not *s*
We probably look a sight going down the street, me being 5' tall and her being 6' tall, but ya know, we see eye to eye and heart to heart.
You may already know Nannie through her internet groups, like RAOK. She is a true Earth Angel.
God blessed me the day we found our friendship. I hope that all of you are also blessed by true friendship. |
