     Con esta produccion Thalia logro su total internacionalizacion, trabajo por primera vez con Emilio Estefan quien segun Thalia es un parte aguas en su carrera como cantante ya que le dio una de las canciones mas importante de su carrera y parte de la cultura pop latina: "Piel morena", dicho tema le abrio muchas puertas a Thalia y actualmente fue escogido en los Estados Unidos como el tema en español más popular. Thalia alterno la promocion de este album con las grabaciones de la telenovela "Maria la del barrio", en muchos paises el album fue lanzado al mismo tiempo que sus telenovelas lo cual ayudo en las ventas. En Filipinas Thalia se convirtio en todo un idolo, en su visita a dicho pais Thalia realizo un par de conciertos y fue recibida por cientos de fanaticos y el presidente de la nacion.

     With this album Thalia became in an international singer, she worked for the first time with Emilio Estefan, acording to her he divided her music career in a before and after because he gave her one of the most important songs of her career and it became in a latin pop classic: "Piel morena", that song was played around the world and it was selected as the most popular latin song in the USA. Thalia promoted this album and "Maria la del barrio" at the same time, the album and the soap was released simultaneously in almost all the countries so it has bis sales. In the Phillipines she became into an idol, Thalia did a couple of concerts in that country, she had an incredible success and she was well received by her fans and the president.

     Thalia's first album on the EMI Latin label finds the Mexican singer and soap-opera starlet moving away from the disposable pop of her earlier discs in favor of richer, more diverse sounds. There are a few limp moments on En Extasis, but Thalia is clearly coming into her own as a singer. The switch is in large part thanks to producers Emilio Estefan Jr. and Kike Santander, who expertly disguise Thalia's shortcomings as a vocalist with slick production values. "Piel Morena," the album's first single and best track, is an intoxicating, sexy cumbia. Thalia shines on "Amándote," a dance track produced by A.B. Quintanilla III , and she even manages a sweet rendition of Juan Gabriel's "Gracias a Dios." The ballads "Quiero Hacerte el Amor" and "Lágrimas" (the latter cowritten by Thalia) also draw attention to unexpected shadings and nuances. --Joey Guerra.
