Independence Day

Action packed thriller with spectacular special effects.  Aliens descend toward Earth to annihilate the human race and take over the planet.  Casting is also superb.  Rated PG-13.

Indian in the Cupboard, The

Delightful tale that explores the possibility that each of us wondered as children:  What would it be like if the toys could come to life?  In this case, a little boy is given a key that opens a cupboard, and when he puts toys inside, they come to life.  Rated PG.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Indiana Jones is the archetype action hero.  He is an archaeologist who will stop at nothing to find the ultimate prize, and of course thwart evil.  Adventure packed, humorous, and always an interesting plot.  One note, each one has a nightmare creature feature:  Raiders of the Lost Ark features snakes (lots of them), Temple of Doom has creepy bugs, and the Last Crusade features rats.  My favorite film is the Last Crusade:  the Harrison-Connery team cannot be beat!  All are rated PG.

Innerspace

Sci-Fi comedy about a shrinking machine and a man who is shrunk and injected into an unsuspecting civilian.  Martin Short shines in this film!!  Rated PG.

Inspector Gadget

Definitely a kiddie show.  Disjointed plot, very little excitement, and the gadgets weren't that great.  My kids really liked it, though, I don't know why.  Matthew Broderick did an outstanding job in his dual role.  Rated PG.

I.Q.

Sleepy romantic comedy about Albert Einstein's niece whom he wants to fall in love with an ordinary man.  To help things along, Einstein and his buddies make it look like the guy is a genius, too.  Very darling movie!  Rated PG.

Island of Dr. Moreau

Being a huge fan of Val Kilmer, I could not pass up The Island of Dr. Moreau.  I really wish I had.  Very strange sci-fi thriller with violence.  Definitely not a family movie, despite its rating.  Rated PG-13.
