Pictures of Galapagos Page 2

This is the Alta's
lounge. I would call it a living room. It's about as big. We would gather
here with our guide and discuss what we saw each outing or be briefed on
what was coming up. It was also a nice place to read or talk.

The inside of this
ship was very comfortable. The whole boat was trimmed in teak wood.

This is a marine iguana.
(below)...just kidding Russ :) They are almost black and about two
to three feet long. Jamie thought they were very amusing on land. But seeing
one swim beneath her while snorkeling it became the equivalent of a big
black snake!!!!

We saw many shore
lines like this one which are formed from recent lava flow. All the islands
in Galapagos are volcanic uprisings from the ocean floor. Most of the volcanos
in Galapagos are still active. Some of the newest real-estate on earth
is in the Galapagos Islands. And as always, the shore is covered with marine
iguanas.
