Pictures of Galapagos Page 7

Is this not the sweetest face ever! You are not allowed to touch any animals in the wild. But if you stood there these little guys would come up and cuddle on you. It was hard to resist petting them and even more difficult to see the ones that were obviously not going to survive and having to just walk away.

They claim to be herbivores, but I still wouldn't let my cat get too close.

This was my best digital shot of a blue footed boobie. Their feet and beak are brilliant sky blue.Unfortunately the back ground of the surf make the colors hard to see.

At the end of the first day we were swimming off the back of the boat about ten minutes after this shot. I was floating on my back staring up at the fading light suspended by the buoyant salt water. Silently, this enormous figure bulges up out of the dark slate surface two feet from my head and arches stealthily out of sight. It was a six hundred pound bull sea lion checking us out. "Maaaannn...you are not in Kansas anymore Toto" I thought to myself. These Islands are known as the Enchanted Islands. They are!
