Updates from 2000 and 2001 can be seen here
December 21st 2002 - Just want to wish everyone a merry christmas! Hope the season treats everyone quite well. I now have another 86 GLH-T black on red you can check that out and I have pictures of the old spearco T1 intercooler kit which I recently sold. Be warned I now also have a digital camera thats capable of making short videos. Soon you'll see what we do with spare time and old tires! Hope the season treats everyone well.

Merry Christmas

October 28th 2002 -  Man, made it to the track only one other time this year. Traction sucked, the lineup to make a run was HUGE! It took me 3 hours to make one run. First and only run, car was PIG rich, spun tires off the line and well past the 60 mark. Car didn't shift till 6100rpm, need to adjust trans,
popped a vaccum line off at half track resulting in nothing more then 13psi. car clicked off a 15.00 which still impressed the crowd,
ugly red fendered blue omni beats Acura Integra GS-R! Watched wade in my old shadow push into the 14's and kevin seal from washington state had tuning issues and traction troubles that held his super 60 shadow in the low low 14's all night. Like I said my ST's were in the 2.9 area. TRACTION SUCKED (cut an awesome .508 light though)

The om will soon see a 3in swingvalve, a hyrbid turbo and probably an FM header in the hunt for more power. I'd also like to swap in the 2.85 diff, complement my .96 transfer gears. I finally put the new carpet and console in so it looks somewhat respectable.  Next will be engine work to push the car into the 13's and then 12's!

The caravelles chugging along nicely, new rear brakes and two new front axles. word of warning when replacing cv axles make damn sure the engine is sitting properly and they are within the length limits. I need to sell this thing though. I want either an L-body or 88 later lebaron, spirit or daytona with a 5spd. I should have some pictures up soon, girlfriend just needs to load the scanning program onto her new laptop. Shouldn't be too long with all of my harrasment. check back soon

July 31st 2002- Racing season seems to dislike me. First I have a headgasket let go in my caravelle so I miss the import day then the diff and carrier in the omni decide to come apart. The carnage was incredible. Took out the diff, carrier, case side gears etc etc. Now it's all going back together and with the 2.86 diff finally. I'm still waiting for my SMEC back from rob maxon. I haven't heard from him in months and I constantly call. I guess I'll just havge to wait. Here you can check out the page on my caravelle here.

cheers,
Mike
June 24th - I've been up to the track twice this year already once with the shadow and once with the school car. The shadow ran well and I came home very happy with a 15.2 timeslip. Th school car (aka the dart) Ran poorly due to an accelerator pump failure and the best we could squeeze out of it all day was a 13.5. previously I'd run 12.8 with it. blech..

I sold the shadow and bought myself a very nice little 86 turbo caravelle. The price was right and I wanted something with four doors and an automatic. I'll start work to get it into the 14's in the next couple of weeks. be ready for a complete rundown of the changes made. I already have a modified turbo I manifold and some other parts.

The omni has been worked on continuously. The 52pph injectors are gone, to make way for some 72pph units, I have a rob maxon calibrated ecu on it's way as well. I swapped back to a regular valvebody as the manual one was a bit much on the street. The downshifts from 3-2 was HORRIBLE. It felt like the car was going to break all 3 mounts. It actually twisted up the trans mount. So I had to weld up a stronger one. I also swapped to 0.96 tranfer gears. The car loves it. Pulls just as hard, gets better fuel mileage and I can run around at 60mph pulling only 2900-3000 rpm. The boost comes on quicker too. I'll eventually swap to a 2.86 diff as well. The car is setup for extremely high boost now. 25-28psi. Should be interesting to see how long that turbocharger holds. The oil seals are already leaking. I had a local turbo shop do the rebuild 6 months ago. I'm never dealing with them again. They *lost * my big wastegate can and overcharged me for the turbo. I'll deal with turbonetics and their affiliates from now on.

On a side not, I just grauduated (finally) and am on my way into the aviation industry. I start with my pilots licence next week. Should be tons of fun.

I have a lot of things for sale yet again. Check out the parts page to see what you might need!
