Taming a budgie can be hard or easy. Please continue reading

Finger Taming

When the budgie has gotten used to its environment, place your hand inside that cage. He will most likely run away or make himself look skinny. If he is squaking just leave your hand in the bottom of the cage. Make sure you do this everyday for about 10 minutes. Coo to your pet, so it soothes him. After your budgie has gotten used to your hand being in the cage, slowly extend a finger on the your pets belly. Press a LITTLE bit, and he will have to step up or fall off his perch. Do this for about 10 minutes a day. After your budgie is used to sitting on your finger, bring him out slowly, and continue talking and comforting him. Make him "step up" onto your finger 10 times, and spend many minutes with him. Be sure to say "step up" when you want him to step up.

ESCAPE!

If you budgie has escaped from your hand, and is loose in your house you can use a towel to lightly cover him and gently pick him up. It is okay if your budgie is let loose in your house if he is tame and it is also safe for him
