Faulk! Dunn! Holt! Wild Monday Sets Super Bowl Match-up

It was an incredible Monday night for BRFL action. Each of the Final Four Teams teams had a player active Monday night and three of those players came up big. No lead was safe. The St Louis Tampa game was a thriller, but from a BRFL perspective, a classic. Two underdogs Ricker and JK needed three and four TDs respectively from a pair of 28s, Warrick Dunn and Marshall Faulk. Believe it or not both got it... but would it be enough?

What can you say about Marshall Faulk... Back to back 4 TD games in the playoffs. Going in JK trailed DB 37-17, and needed more than three scores from Faulk. Only one other time in NFL history had a player scored four TDs in back to back games. But Faulk Did it. Perhaps one of the most incredible performances in BRFL history. Final JK 42 DB 37. The first Super Bowl ever for those longtime loveable losers, JK.

Similarly, Ricker needed a big game from Warrick Dunn. Going in he was down 15, 47-32. At one point during the game, Dunn had scored twice and Ricker trailed Outlaw only by one and Dunn was stopped on the one, twice. Next series, though, Outlaw's Torry Holt broke loose for a 72 yard score, and Outlaw pulled away. Dunn did get the third TD to make it interesting. The score, incredibly 57-54. The very SAME score Outlaw LOST to Ricker on a late TD scored by Randy Moss against Tampa. Ten weeks later, Outlaw burns Ricker 57-54 on a late Monday TD and earns a trip to the Super Bowl. Revenge, indeed, sweet!

Perhaps Bud was right, points teams are something to be feared. By the way, Bud, congrats on yet another "twiffle" crown. The 7th and 8th seeds - Two teams that finished third in the divison are playing for BRFL Super Bowl.
