on the beach Hearing this song for the first time got me very excited, WAS this the Crows? Adam’s voice was unmistakable, but well, the mood was so light and…..happy. Now that was feeling was very rare on any song found in August and Everything After. Eventually I found out that it WAS a CC song, and where to find it, the DGC rarities album. I find it funny how some people HAVE to analyze a song’s lyrics in order to enjoy it. Sometimes, I feel that is totally unnecessary. When I first hear a song, more often than not, it’s the melody that first grabs me, and is often enough for me to keep enjoying the song. There’s no denying, this is a very catchy pop song, something sorely lacking in the Crow’s catalogue of songs, that’s the simple beauty of this song. The lyrics aren’t very sophisticated but are very smart and playful. For a time, it was my favorite CC song, simply because it was different. Up to this day, I still don’t know exactly what the song is about, but well, I feel I don’t have to. All I have to do is listen to the melody, and a picture, a happy picture forms in my head. I don’t want to know what this song is exactly about, I just enjoy what the song in general does for me, which is it never fails to cheer me up.
