Something Stinks! I Think It's
Kale.
Ian with his height and build resembles an elf actually and sometimes passes as one. He watches things alertly and looks people directly in the eyes which many find unnerving. His hair is shoulder length, black and has a natural silver streak in the front. He usually has a quirky half smile on his his finely chiseled features unless he is using his impassive poker face when dealing with those he doesn't like. He takes pride in his appearance and lives as richly as he can afford for each day. He tries not to do more work then necissary but does do good jobs when he has to do it. He thinks well of himself but tries not to show it. He is a good loser but gets a cheshire cat grin when he wins at something. (which causes trouble in casinoes with bad losers) Ian has a definite interest in females which many adventurers lack but only gets involved if it might be a lasting relationship. He has a fine taste for art and music and will be a patron for artists with his winnings just for the fun of it. Lastly money and information are big motivators but not enough to betray a friend or risk his life for. Once he got behind in gambling he asked his brother, a merchant, to loan him some cash but his brother broke his word and told a magistrate that Ian robbed him of the money. As his brother wanted, Ian was disowned and his inheritance as firstborn is now his younger brother's while his father hates him. Before dying his mother told him there was something special, an heirloom, that he would get but now his brother will get it, whatever it is. Honorable as he is, Ian plans to pay his brother the money he owes still. He came from Lostow, where Lord Moorly was a patron of the arts and so three of the major employers were the actors' guild which leased the theatre, the bards' school, and the thieves guild which owned the casino. Ian was the son of the theatre owner who wanted Ian to be a minstrel and sent him to the Bard's School of Stallore. Ian with his impatient, adventure loving nature took his monthly tuition fee for the school and patronized the casino and theatre. One day he won a round of poker with a gypsy. Having no more money the gypsy gave Ian a book of conjuration for his winnings. After that Ian fell to decyphering the book day and night. Finally at the age of 25 he's decided to set out to seek his fortune. He packed his few things and headed for Saberhaven City, the hub of adventure for these parts. Less than a day there, Ian found a group ready to set out from a tavern called the Rottin' Corpse. |
