PCs NPCs Maps Calendar Post Archive Old PBeMs: The Darkening The Game	Something Stinks! I Think It's Kale. Sand Skimmers The Sand Skimmers are used solely in the Southlands area on the Dead Sea. The ships are narrow and wooden, with metal reinforced edges. The metal edges force the sand away as the ship "skims" across the several inches of loose soil and silt on the bottom of the dried up sea. They are powered mainly by the momentum of lauching from steep cliff platforms and sustained in motion by the sails catching the wind. They need a crew of about a dozen and can hold up to ten other passengers confortably as well as some amount of cargo in the holds.
