Chrysophtharta sp., body length 8mm
We saw the beetle once in Karawatha Forest during mid summer. It was resting on leaf of a young gum tree. The beetle has the very colour patterns on its wing covers, with red, black and white colours. When we came very close, it dropped onto the ground and disappeared. More pictures and information please click on here.

Chrysophtharta sp., body length 8mm
We found this beetle many times in Karawatha Forest during mid summer. When disturbed, this beetle released a small dropping on leaf. We believed this is a kind of defense behavior. More information and pictures can be found in this page.

This beetle resemble a gum nut. Its body is dull brown in colour with dusty surface texture. They are sometimes found in Karawatha Park during early summer. The beetles were wandering on young gum trees alone. When we came close, they quickly ran away. More pictures and information can be found in here.
