Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

- Chrysophtharta species both adults and larvae feed on
eucalyptus. Comparing with other genera of Paropsine Leaf Beetles, they are
relatively smaller in size.

- Eucalyptus Leaf Beetle

- Chrysophtharta cloelia, adult body length 8mm, larvae length
10mm
- This Leaf Beetle are sometimes found on young Eucalyptus tree in
Brisbane forest from late spring to summer. They are golden brown in colour. We
found some of their larvae and raised them into adults. Check this page for the details.

- Red-black-white Leaf Beetle

- Chrysophtharta sp., body length 8mm
- We saw the beetle once in Karawatha Forest during mid summer. It was resting
on leaf of a young gum tree. The beetle has the very colour patterns on its
wing covers, with red, black and white colours. When we came very close, it
dropped onto the ground and disappeared. More pictures and information please

- We found this beetle many times in Karawatha Forest during mid summer. When
disturbed, this beetle released a small dropping on leaf. We believed this is

- Gum Nut Leaf
Beetle
 - ? Chrysophtharta
sp., body length 8mm
- This beetle resemble a gum nut. Its body is dull
brown in colour with dusty surface texture. They are sometimes found in Karawatha Park during early summer.
The beetles were wandering on young gum trees alone. When we came close, they quickly ran away.
