New York, NY (AP) - Recently a battle between several superheroes took place over the skies of New York City. The participants of this battle were the members of the Order of Freedom and Liberty. All of these heroes were all thought to be dead, having died on their satellite almost two years ago. Their reappearance was a certainly a cause to celebrate, as many consider the Order of Freedom and Liberty to be the greatest of all super hero teams. But the battle held a bit of controversy as well, as the battle was between most of the Order and Archon.
The battle started about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, on February 10th. Many of the participants were well known; Flux, Dirge, Beowulf, Morrigan, Minuteman, Knickknack, Dragon Claw, Poltergeist and their opponent Archon. Two other heroes also participated in the battle, but they have yet to be identified, possibly new members of the Order. The battle raged on for nearly ten minutes, with Archon apparently fighting off the nine other heroes single handedly. The fight finally ended in an explosion that enveloped Archon.
After the fight, Dirge flew down for a short press conference. "The Order of Freedom and Liberty has returned. We are not dead. The reason for our disappearance is simple; Archon betrayed us and attempted to kill us. He succeeded in killing Captain Infinity, Andromeda, Savate, Proton, Mech-199, and Doctor Killdare. The rest of us would have died as well, if it weren't for another superhero team, a group of brave souls known as Redemption, who kept the world safe in our place."
When asked about Archon's motivations, Dirge replied, "He fooled us. He was corrupted by his magic, and he had made a deal with Belial, unbeknownst to all of us. Belial was involved in this treachery and died as well. Hopefully with today's defeat of Archon, we can finally put all this business behind us."
And as for the future of the team Dirge said, "We have a lot of catching up to do. Only Flux was active for the last year and a half. Things have changed since we were gone. For example, there was an imposter using my name as part of a team called Millennium Corp. This needs to be resolved. There will continue to be an Order of Freedom and Liberty. I am the acting leader for the moment, and our final roster will be decided soon. But we shall continue to do what we always done, protect the innocent and uphold the law."
