How To Make An E-Fed

Making an e-fed requires so many things, in so many steps, I'll outline each of them for you

Step 1 - Getting Ideas

No e-fed survives if you don't slow down and think things through.   Think of how your roster is going to look.  Think of how you are going to run your e-fed.  Think of how many hours a day you're going to put into it, make sure it's a minimum of two at the start as it doesn't take off.  Think of how many cards you want.  Most e-feds have two cards, but less heavy RPers like having one card.   Make sure you think of all the pages you'll need.  Go to other sites and see what they do.  Plan PPV names, card names.  Make sure everything is in order.   Look at servers, free ones for beginners.  Look for ones that you want and that you think would suit your e-fed the best.

Step 2 - Page Generation

Now that you have all your ideas, come up with a site design.  There needs to be a balance between look and speed.  And site must look good but have good load up speed on all pages.  Make sure you put all the pages you thought up somewhere and organize them so that the common person can recognize what each item.  Make sure you have a logo.  Make sure you have a place to record updates.  Make sure the design is basic enough for you to understand but still looks impressive.  If you can't make an impressive site that has understandable HTML, go to HTML schools to learn some or practice.  Make sure you generate each page.  Make sure you have a system of rankings set up.  Try to use frames, tables, or a combo of each.  Make sure you can update the site fast and do not have to update all pages for each update.

Step 3 - Getting Members

Getting members is the hardest part.  First you can use the "hidden member market."  An experienced role-player should know quite a lot of people.  Well, contact them.  If you have them on AIM or ICQ go ask them if they are doing anything in e-wrestling.  If they say no and want to join you've got members.  But if they say yes and can't join your e-fed, ask them if they know anyone that you could ask.  Once they give you a name you go ask them, this is called networking.  The other way of doing it is the classic way.  Go to a chat room and talk to a person and ask them to join after a long chat.  Either way would be sufficient.  Don't spam, most people just delete those e-mails.

Step 4 - First Card

Once you have your members make your first card.  Make sure each person gets on the first card.  Make sure the first card either has a world title tournament, or a world title qualifications tournament, or some other form of giving out the world title.  The world title doesn't need to be given out at the first card and can all lead to a PPV, but you should have world title associated matches. The world title is your most valued prize and should represent the company, it should be decided fairly and in the best way you can.  A title that changes hands quickly is worthless while one that oddly changes hands has great value.  Make sure you try to contact your members and set up a chat network either through AIM or ICQ, or maybe even an http://www.egroup.com with e-mail.

These are all the steps needed to making a successful e-fed.   Running one requires at least two hours a day of time, motivation, e-wrestling experience, willlingness to learn, and sociability.  Seems like a perfect person but that's what is needed.
