Interview: Gateway
Vice-President Spamman
Paul Vincent: I'm here with Spamman the Vice-Overseer of Gateway,
how are you today Spamman?
Spamman: "um...okay"
Paul Vincent: So tell me, why do you think Gateway failed in it's first run?
Spamman: we didn't have everything figured out, and we didn't have the site started
fast enough, members simply lost interest
Paul Vincent: So what have you done this time around to help tackle this problem?
Spamman: well, everything in experience and judging has been figured out and all
the stories and stuff were done much quicker
Paul Vincent: Quick enough to reduce quality, or just more time put into it?
Spamman: i was in georgia over the summer, stories that would take me 1 1/2 hours
to do, i put off for about 2 weeks
Paul Vincent: Alright, now how did you first get involved with the Gateway team?
Spamman: chris told me about it
Spamman: and i like that kind of stuff
Paul Vincent: prior to Gateway what RPG's were you involved with?
Spamman: video games
Spamman: lots of video games
Paul Vincent: That was unexpected, difference in fun between video games and text
based games?
Spamman: i guess, the video games i play have a lot of writing in them, so i still
have to read just as much, there is just more judging in gatewayrpg
Paul Vincent: Now explain exactly how you would "judge"?
Spamman: i forget what i judge on, it is on the fed systems page along with the
experience and money system
Spamman: i know now
Spamman: story/easily read=25 points
Spamman: spelling/grammer=10 points
Spamman: length= 5 points
Spamman: other= 10 points
Paul Vincent: Now, the concept of role-playing in this game is different from that
of e-federations, how can you describe them?
Spamman: i forget what e-fed roleplaying is like, i quit about 4 years ago
Paul Vincent: so you enter this game with little knowledge of role-playing?
Spamman: roleplaying in wrestling basis, i know what the roleplaying in an rpg like
this is supposed to be
Paul Vincent: So how did Gateway RPG change from beginning to end?
Spamman: in the beginning we tried our best, but we hadn't come up with a complete
way to judge roleplays and didn't even know what a fed system page is
Spamman: now we do
Paul Vincent: Do purple monkeys make you nervous?
Spamman: sometimes, one time they snuck into my room and started to prod me in
wierd places
Paul Vincent: Moving on to a useful question, what plans do you guys have for
Gateway RPG in the next few months?
Spamman: 1) get it restarted
Spamman: 2) we probably will have moved on to the next era
Spamman: 3) october should be the release of gateayrpg offline
Spamman: that is all i can see so far
Paul Vincent: Gateway Offline? You can play Gateway Offline? COOL!
Spamman: as you well know, gateway offline is a sort of text based game using a
dice system, you can get a battle simulator with it if you have q-basic
Paul Vincent: Sounds stupid, did I hurt your self-esteem?
Spamman: alot
Spamman: in fact i am about to cry
Paul Vincent: good, now you won't be able to say anything when I ask your feelings
on Vincent Empires
Spamman: oh god, noone likes me
Spamman: but i can answer
Spamman: i like the banner
Paul Vincent: wow, over 100 pages and all he can say is he likes the banner
Spamman: and the last of the favorite messages
Paul Vincent: What happens when money gets involved in a game?
Spamman: that is where guns come in, many people will be held up and have things
stolen from them
Spamman: wait
Spamman: are we talking about the gatewayrpg still?
Paul Vincent: yes
Paul Vincent: as in, if it became a paid position
Spamman: you mean i have to pay to be VP of it
Paul Vincent: no, I'm saying what would happen if I was paying you to be VP?
Spamman: everything would remain the same, i don't think i could be any more loyal
Paul Vincent: so you're saying you wouldn't become more corrupt by money?
Spamman: don't get me wrong, i really REALLY support the idea of paying me, but i
would still work just as hard
Paul Vincent: you saying you wouldn't quit school and go career with it?
Paul Vincent: What kind of person are you?
Spamman: i couldn't quit school until i could afford at least an appartment, my dad
would kick me out of the house if i were to quit school
Paul Vincent: oh well, at least you got your priorities straight
Paul Vincent: do you know anything about HTML?
Spamman: i used to know some, but then i stopped working on my site and forgot it
all
Spamman: now my knowlede is very limited
Paul Vincent: we all know you have limited knowledge
Paul Vincent: you've toned down your raping people of their spirits, what's that
all about?
Spamman: haven't had very many oppertunities
Paul Vincent: How many of your original Gateway handlers are returning?
Spamman: 4, but 1 of them returns under a different name
Spamman: i am still in
Spamman: but chris left
Paul Vincent: do you know all of these handlers on a personal level?
Spamman: i know most of them, but i am not very familiar with the gryz person
Spamman: but i am sure i wouldn't like him
Paul Vincent: have you ever had sex with any of them?
Spamman: not recently
Spamman: i was drunk
Paul Vincent: have they ever offered sex in exchange for wins?
Spamman: once or twice
Paul Vincent: So Spamman is indeed a corrupt Vice-President?
Spamman: i never excepted, but i was flattered
Paul Vincent: you were flatter than what?
Spamman: pretty flat, but i can name someone flatter
Paul Vincent: Who's flatter than Spamman?
Spamman: dxfed, lonestar, greg winters, roin, chris redden, overseer
Spamman: all of them
Paul Vincent: alright, so if I gave you a free trip to meet Weird Al Yankavich,
would that be a good thing or bad thing?
Spamman: okay, although i havn't heard a funny song from him in a long time
Paul Vincent: You haven't heard "All About The Pentiums"?
Spamman: no
Paul Vincent: Where have you been living, under a rock?
Spamman: last i heard was the american pie parody
Paul Vincent: Than I suggest downloading it and start living in a house with TV
Spamman: half my life is TV, i am watching tv right now
Paul Vincent: Wow, you less of a life than I do ;-)
Spamman: well, half is computer/TV mix
Spamman: 1/4 is all computer
Spamman: 1/8 is pure tv
Spamman: 1/8 is school
Spamman: that makes 1/1
Paul Vincent: only you could put your life into simple ratios
Spamman: i could put a life into anything
Spamman: i bet i could put yours in a blender
Spamman: ::grabs chief and places him in blender::
Paul Vincent: unfortunately, I on't have a blender
Spamman: i do
Spamman: you don't know what a blender is
Paul Vincent: Now, you've been fairly active around the ECWF group, what brought
about this?
Spamman: i am back in PA, nothing better to do
Spamman: besides, i enjoy speaking with people that i don't know
Paul Vincent: you're from Pensylvania?
Spamman: no
Paul Vincent: so what's PA?
Paul Vincent: or is that like "pah"
Spamman: i am from newfoundland
Paul Vincent: liar, I am
Spamman: my name is paul
Paul Vincent: no, you're Spamman damnit!
Spamman: no your not, i am, haven't you ever heard of my sites at VE
Paul Vincent: moron
Spamman: your spamman
Paul Vincent: see, my site's not at VE, it is VE
Spamman: up yours chief
Paul Vincent: I bet you wanna
Paul Vincent: as we were saying
Spamman: i know, i never said it wasn't
Paul Vincent: any final comments about Gateway, VE, or your bestrated personal
habits?
Spamman: 1) my master project gatewayrpg offline will be done october
Spamman: 2) I shall be making an offline version of all the sites in VE
Spamman: 3) My personal habits are none of your business |
