Stability and Prosperity

The woman who succeeded Tourma IV had to be a careful economist out of necessity more than want and she ended up relying greatly upon the senate for advice and guidance in making the planet prosperous. With the senate aid, Queen Esa I (the granddaughter of Tourma IV) decided that the only way to do this was to encourage exports and reduce her imports thus creating employment in Aquarius without spending much money. Jobs in the banks became more available, as did they in the Primary industries. The planet was to an extent lucky that its closest friend, Leo, was experiencing an economic situation directly opposite to Aquarius’. It was being too prosperous and inflation was rapidly increasing. The Queen Line of Leo raised her taxes and import spending on non-desirable consumer goods in an attempt to contract Leo’s growth and received much of the Aquarian exports of basic raw materials. Gradually with the fiddling of more of the economics, the two planets found their economies stabilising. Leo’s growth slowed as Aquarius once again became prosperous. The people of both planets honoured both monarchs in celebration for returning stability and prosperity, and also for the political gains of forging a closer Leonine-Aquarian friendship.
