The Great Change – Alliance with the Silver Millennium
The reign of Aline Rjyinaei (begun in 1096 BC/ AS 904) marked a crucial change in the history of the Planet as Aquarius came under the influence of the Silver Millennium in 1081 BC/ AS 919). This arrangement would last for the following 1000 years until the planet’s eventual death in BC 0. The influence of the Moon Kingdom was expanding, initially through a series of hostile approaches, which occupied the system planets of Mars, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, and dangerously for Aquarius, Virgo. Aline was warned by her astronomers and ministers, and after a visit by an ambassador of the Moon she decided to align peacefully in a federation. The planets of the Millennium used the Queen Serenity as a figurehead, almost deified and had to commit military strength to a Federation Army but retained fundamental governmental powers, a monarch and traditions. Serenity only governed to the extent of legislation covering the entire federation, which had to be adhered to. The arrangement was peaceful and advantageous to all involved due to securities offered, the ‘Weight of the Millennium’ and trading possibilities. Businessmen of Aquarius and the upper-ranks welcomed the change for its possibilities and revered the daring Aline but there was substantial opposition on the fringes of the Twins Island, Zephyrus and the far north of Galatea which unfortunately resulted in a number of riots and violent skirmishes. Aline was succeeded in BC 1046/ AS 954 by her younger daughter Tourma (the eldest suffered an illness when she was 45 years old). Tourma supported the alliance and developed more amicable feelings among her people by her shrewd economic sense. She demonstrated the value by importing granite from the fiery planets of Mars and Leo for the use of the labourers of Aquarius, while exporting valuable Mythril to the entire Millennium and the grains produced by the farmers. This work was continued by Tourma’s daughter Emera (reigned from BC 1020/ AS 980) who further consolidated the better feelings towards the alliance during her reign. ~*Sculpture of Aline Rjyinaei in Mythril metal*~
