'Durajtiymn Curamis’
The next notable monarch was the great granddaughter of Emera, Amejisu who ascended the throne in BC 932 /AS 1068 and instigated the ‘Durajtiymn Curamis’ (or ‘Cultural Age’ in Lunarian) which was the first Golden Age of Culture in Aquarius. Amejisu was a great believer in both education and piety and while adopting much of the Lunarian culture into her policies she began a massive project of temple construction in each of the five capitals devoted to the Aquarian ‘Sajsmi’ (Triad) of deities; Thetis, Galatea and Nereus. She also completed a magnificent complex in Mara with devotions to all the ancient Aquarian deities and a clever political move showing off Aquarian craftsmanship wit the resources of the Millennium, in particular Lunarian moonstone. This she christened ‘Mestia ny Dylenied Aquaria’ or ‘Heart of the Divine Air’. In addition, Amejisu created a new and comprehensive education system. The inventive Aquarian mentality shone through in her devised curriculum and especially promoted inventive sciences and the learning of the Lunarian language. Amejisu founded the first higher education facilities of the society with on focussing upon the inventive sciences based in Europa, the ‘Misriylia Sudtzanses’ and one focussing upon arts and languages in Mara, the ‘Misriylia Raetha’. Her reign flourished with the arts and most notably of these artists was the poet Fenigchi who pioneered the use of the Lunarian language in his experimental work, ‘Fields of Imagination’. Amejisu’s successor, her daughter Aline II demonstrated the success of Amejisu’s cultural policies and was the first monarch to have Lunarian as her firs language. Both Aline and her daughter Celana reigned successfully for 38 and 43 years respectively. Celana was the first Queen of Aquarius to bear no children and was succeeded by her sister, Myrtle who was ten years her junior. Myrtle reigned for 6 years before dying at the age of 71. Her 33 year old daughter unfortunately suffered the same fatal illness and the rule passed to the 12 year old Aequoreus who initially had to rule with Protectorate assistance. This protectorate was given to he mother’s best friend, the noblewoman Lady Cali Glacies. This arrangement would follow through until the Queen’s political coming-of-age at 18. (An Aquarian would be considered adult in all senses at 16 but it was decided in the case of the monarchy that a Queen would be right of mind to govern as autocrat at 18). The significance of the Protectorate instilled Lady Glacies as the second most powerful lady of the planet and the important of all the nobility. |
