Skyline: A shooting star passes over the skyline.Plot: Kate Costas, the new station manager at KACL has arrived and everyone is nervous. She fires Father Mike and tells Frasier that whilst his ratings are good, they could be better. She suggests themed shows - an idea that Frasier is appalled by. He refuses, and his show is moved to the early hours of the morning. In revenge, Frasier does a theme show - about sex. Tired and catty, he greets his listeners with "What are you wearing?" rather than "I'm listening", and when a caller named Jill reveals she's not wearing anything, Frasier starts stripping off too. Next day Frasier goes to Kate's office and they listen to the show. Both agree that something has to be done, but both have different views and ideas, especially about what key Bartok's concerto is in (Frasier says D, Kate says C) . When Frasier threatens to leave, Kate has a good idea….. Meanwhile Niles' security system has broken, and Maris is worried. To put her mind at risk, Niles buys a gun, and Martin tries to teach him how to use it. But as usual chaos reigns supreme….. Plus Eddie is wearing a plastic collar after a fight with the Doberman upstairs - and Daphne is using him to get better reception on the TV!!! Subtitles: Crass Appeal; A Long Night's Journey Into Day; Nocturnal Transmissions; While You Were Sleeping. It's Maris!!!: Maris is worried that she is at risk as their security system has broken. Roz loves….. Dennis Abbot, a "very rich man". Roz was cross because her date was ruined when she had to start work at 2am. Where Everybody Knows Your Name: Mention of Frederick, and an indirect mention of Lilith, as Frasier says that if he had problems taking orders from a woman, his son would never have been born! Trivia: This is the first episode with the shooting star skyline. Final appearance of Father Mike (he's fired). Daphne mentions her brothers Nigel, Reginald and Billy. This is the first time Niles gets to "play" with a gun - he will use one again in Ep 233 "Analysed Kiss". And of course first appearance of Kate Costas - the dirty girl. |
